In this project our basic goal is to utilize one of the biggest source of waste of Pakistan i.e. textile waste as Pakistan is one of the top exporter of garment. As in today’s era nothings is considered waste of any product, we always aims to try to make waste into a useful by product that is now knowns as End product. Tracking of this textile waste of Karachi would put light on the fact that how much important is to utilize, reduce or recycle this waste and find innovative technique to make it sustainable by utilizing it in construction material. Now that world is move towards sustainability concept like fashion industries around the world are encouraging textile recycling and trying to find ways to make recycling more economical. Having the data available for public of Karachi’s textile waste would encourage order researches and innovative idea for utilizing it. As sustainable products gets into market with the collaboration of textile industry that would give the industries a recognition throughout the world because they would been associated with this sustainable product. | | Project Objectives |
- Aim to create a platform in form of a website or app, which will be especially for data collection or tracking of textile waste.
- Get the data from large textile industries and certification from Sindh solid waste management board (SSWMB)
- Utilize one of the biggest ignored source of end-products i.e. textile end-products
Into understanding methodology, criteria and properties of construction component - Low cost, innovative and sustainable product that will be providing both compressive and tensile properties.
- Opening a window for further research in this kind of end-product which will eventually leading to a self-sustaining industry.
- Designing of textile waste block with glue or cements as the binding agent.

- Firstly our aims is to estimate the textile end-products in the Karachi with detail knowledge of what is happening to all this textile cut offs.
- Providing a platform to textile industry to connect with each in term waste handling and sustainability through this World Wide Web. First It will consist as a data collecting website/app and as the use case of textile waste increase like our textile waste block than waste buyer will be become the part of this eco system. Final product will be in the form of MVP(minimum viable product)
- In one part of the study after estimation we will be making a mesh and net like component out of textile fiber, which will be tested with range of compositions in variety of ways.do comparative Research on standard compressive and flexural strengths and of workability
- In the order part we will testing the binding agent such as glue and cement, collectively and individually with shredded highly compressed textile waste for block formation.
- After all researching and conclusion we will do the studies to find the best way to infuse modern era advance software and technologies to facilitate future industries and user by providing quick access to the engineering knowledge behind textile waste end-products.
- After recognition from Sindh solid waste, industries which have connected with us and provided their waste in the development of construction material will be recognized as the industries which have concern for sustainability.
