Project Area of Specialization Software EngineeringProject SummaryThe rapid advancement of technology in the aspect of computerized digital systems is having a great impact over the business world as well. Millions of business industries are hugely relying over the internet services for their worldwide recognition. As the no. of users over the internet increasing by the time, the business owners are introducing their internet modules to reach a bigger market share, attract customers and generate more revenue by scaling their industry to the bigger level. Same is the case with the restaurant operations. Restaurant owners are constantly looking for an opportunity to provide their customers a facility to place orders using their online portal and have food delivered fast.
In addition to this, every one is having a busy routine nowadays. Specifically, the working-class people are so busy in their daily stuff that they do not get enough time to sit and eat their meal properly. Moreover, children in the modern era like to eat fast food items or something other than the homemade meal, hence to address these kinds of issues the food ordering portals like FoodPanda and Zomato were initially introduced and now they have become one of the fastest growing markets over the internet.
But with the passage of time the competition in the market increased. Consequently, the developers and the restaurant owner’s proposed attractive ideas to grab the customer’s attention. But to some extent they compromised over some fundamental needs of the users in the multiple aspects including the vendor’s or customer’s ease to pay the delivery charges per order and covering the local roadside cafes and food stalls.
In proposed app, these market gaps will be covered by introducing an economical and user-friendly mobile application to serve the users in an efficient but inexpensive manner.
Precisely, food and grocery delivery is a huge market in Pakistan. In the current business model, the food and grocery apps provide two modes of delivery i.e., home delivery and takeaway. The home delivery is done through third party riders for which the apps charge around 30% of the transaction value. Due to which many established local food vendors and grocery shops don’t opt for such apps and remain part of the unaccounted businesses. These local vendors manage their own small rider fleet and take orders over the phone manually. To address this gap, we are developing a food and grocery delivery app that provides a full fledge online small business automation solution. The basic assumption is that the vendor itself would manage their own small rider fleet hence will be charged a very nominal fee for the subscription of the app as per their number of transactions. It would make the small business more efficient.
