Project Summary
The aim of this project is to scan through the wall for any intrusion using Wi-Fi transmitter. The signals will be recieved thorugh recievers and signal processing would be done so as to detect movement and display it on a GUI. Thus strong understanding of signal processing and techniques for developing a GUI are mandatory for this project.
Project Objectives
The following tasks will be performed in this project.
- Transmission of Wi-Fi signals with the help of a tranmitting antenna.
- Receiving of signals using receiver antenna.
- Signal processing.
- Displaying the results on a GUI.
Project Implementation Method
The project aims to develop a device/system which will be implemented as follows:
- TP-Link TL-WR1043ND wireless router will be used to transmit Wi-Fi signals through the wall.
- Required algorithm will be developed using CSI parameters of the received signals.
- Recieved signals will be processed on Intel NUC Mini PC.
- Results will be displayed using a GUI on a screen.
The operating system used in this projects will be Linux.
Benefits of the Project
In the 1930s, U.S. Navy researchers stumbled upon the concept of radar when they noticed that a plane flying past a radio tower reflected radio waves. This project aims to apply the same concept to detect any intrusion/movement through the wall. This project will be very beneficial in certain security applications such as Hostage situation, Urban Warfare, Intrusion Detection in unauthorized areas etc.
