Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummarySolar IV Curve Tracer is equipment to plot the IV(Current vs voltage) and PV(Power vs Voltage) curve of the solar Photo-Voltaic modules and tells operating condition, power losses, shading effect, and overall behavior of solar PV module graphically. In our project, we have developed an android application based mobile app and linked it with hardware the data of solar panels transferred from hardware and displayed on the mobile app(user-friendly)
Project ObjectivesThe main objectives of our project are:
1)To trace the IV curve of solar PV at a given temperature and irradiance.
2)To trace the IV curve in a very efficient way and at a very less expense.
3)To display the IV curved on a mobile screen through a software application.
4)To make the device user-friendly.
Project Implementation Method- The solar panel is connected parallel to the IV curve tracer
- The controller allows variable load circuit to start switching off the resisters
- Current and voltage sensors take reading and send it to ESP 32 microcontroller and then controller process data
- Wi-Fi Module in ESP 32 microcontroller sends reading to android based mobile application
- Mobile Application Plot IV and PV curve of solar panel
- Trace IV and PV curve in real time on mobile app
- Operating performance/condition of Solar PV panel
- Power Loss of solar PV panel
- At the end of this project, we will be ready to trace the IV curve of the solar PV cells.
- we would observe the IV curve of the Solar Panel on a mobile application.
- we would trace the IV curve at minimum cost and at high efficiency
