Development And Control Of DC Micro grid
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryDevelopment of DC microgrid involves integration of different generation sources to a common DC bus using power electronic interfaces. The project comprises of integration of different sources such as PVs, Wind, Fuel cells and batteries to a common DC bus. Further control of these sources through proper controller design of DC-DC converters is also intended.
Project Objectives- Integration of different generation sources to a common DC bus
- Design of controllers for operation of DC microgrid.
- Simulation (Simulink or any other tool)
- Hardware Implementation
•Development of DC micro grid involves integration of different renewable energy sources to a common DC bus using power electronic interfaces.
•The project comprises of integration of different sources such as PVs, Wind, Fuel cells and batteries to a common DC bus along with DC and AC loads.
•Control of these sources through proper controller design of DC-DC converters is also intended.
•Devise and implement control for operation of micro grid.
•Hardware implementation (involves design of DC-DC converters for various sources).
•Simulink for simulation purposes.
Benefits of the ProjectToday the integration of DC sources to a grid can be very useful due to gradual shift towards the use of solar PVs for generation both in residential as well as commercial sector. This system can help in realizing a system that utilizes sources of different nature and integrating them together in a controlled fashion.
Technical Details of Final Deliverable• A hardware setup with different sources integrated to a common DC bus with loads and with a proper control.
•Integration of different sources includes PVs, Wind, Fuel cells and batteries to a common DC bus along with DC and AC loads.
• DMS is server based web application that will manage different energy sources respective of our desired load.
•Simulink for simulation purposes and MATLAB coding.
•Design of DC-DC converters for various sources and design of DC-AC Inverter for AC loads.
