Due to lack of experts and health care centers and increasing numbers of patients and frequent diseases and health problems in Balochistan including Khuzdar region, It is very difficult for everyone to get medical advice based on initial symptoms of common diseases. In a latest report, healthcare facilities of the Balochistan province have been rated in general as poor and among various causes, lack of healthcare facilities and need for efficient measures has been highlighted. There is need to use modern methods especially Artificial Intelligence based methods to find a solution to this problem with a focus on Balochistan and specifically Khuzdar region. We are going to design a fuzzy logic based basic Disease Diagnosis Expert System. The selection to use fuzzy logic for the project has been made because in medical symptoms, there is high chance of ambiguity found in terms of deciding about the severity of a certain aspects e.g pain etc. In the literature, fuzzy logic has been found to work well in developing medical expert systems. A detailed survey of to get symptoms of common diseases will be done in collaboration with medical experts from DHQ Hospital Khuzdar and using MoU with Jhalawan Medical College. After this, input parameters for fuzzy systems shall be obtained and a Mamdani based Fuzzy Expert System will be created. The output of the system shall be suggestion to the patient based on knowledgebase and ruleset to take further steps of medical care. Finally, this system shall be linked to a developed mobile application and then will be tested in Basic Health Unit (BHU) of Balochsitan UET Khuzdar for finalization.

Project Objectives
  1. To design a Fuzzy logic based basic disease diagnosis expert system for Khuzdar region of Balochistan.
  2. To develop a mobile app for the developed Expert system and evaluation of the system.
Project Implementation Method

Step 1: Requirement gathering from the literature, medical experts, patients and other stakeholders regarding common diseases found in the region

Step 2: Analysing the data obtained and final selection of parameters and rulesets for the development of fuzzy expert system.

Step 3: Designing of fuzzy expert system using relevant software.

Step 4: Applying software on dataset and rectification of any errors.

Step 5: Development of Mobile Application for the developed software.

Step 6: Testing of the Mobile Application.

Step 7: Evaluation of system by installing it at BHU at Engineering. University Khuzdar and reporting results and suggesting future directions.

Benefits of the Project
  1. The system uses modern Artificial Intelligence technique for project development.
  2. Project is linked with Sustainable Development Goals number three which is Good Health and Well Being related with Khuzdar region of Balochistan.
  3. Developed Expert System will save the time and will provide a confident path for patients for initial suggestions on symptoms of disease.
  4. System will be implemented on an android app which makes it easy to use.
  5. The fuzzy system will provide a way forward for future automation using different Artificial Intelligence methods to achieve SDGs which are locally deliverable.
Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final deliverable of the project shall be an intelligent software using fuzzy logic technique of Artificial Intelligence assisting in diagnosing a disease with available symptoms at an early stage for a common user in Khuzdar region. This software system shall also be accessible by Android Mobile Application. This solution will be a research based software application using various online software tools like Matlab, Android Studio and others. For data gathering USB devices shall be used and for Android Application installation, an android mobile shall be used.
