Design, modelling and manufacturing of a Paint robot will be used in automotive industry
Project Area of Specialization Mechatronics EngineeringProject SummaryRobots of this kind are installed in the automotive
industry, the majority of them for painting car
bodies. Current practice for such applications is to
have 10 robots operating in one paint station.
In this project we aim to replace several robots with one robot in a limited workspace and with more precision.
Further development of the robot control has
extended its reach into the area of process control.
Electrically driven paint robots, which operate with
much higher availability and require less costly
maintenance, are now used exclusively. In
addition, the painting speed has been increased by
about 50 percent, while the dynamic accuracy of
the path tracking and the absolute accuracy
(referred to the target coordinates) have also
improved.
1. Design of a robot that can paint the whole car.
Development of a computer model of a paint robot.
2. Mathematical modelling of a paint robot.
Identification and purchase of suitable components.
3. Implementation and testing of paint robot.
Solution for Industrial Problem.
1. CAD model of the desired robot.
2. Manufacturing of robot on the basis of model.
3. Motion Control of the Robot using sensors.
Benefits of the ProjectThis Project will provide following benefits on industry level:-
1. Replacing several robots with one robot.
2. Cost will be sufficiently reduced.
3. Will decrease the maintenance required.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe End product will deliver following objectives :-
1. Automobile spray painting with precision in limited workspace.
2. Motion controller will be implemented for unknown workspace.
