So our project is based on to protect an induction motor from electrical faults such as overcurrent, overvoltage, under voltage, overloading, excessive heat and vibration. We will do mathematical modeling, simulation and then design and implement the system on hardware.
Aim: Design and implement a system to protect an induction motor from various faults such as overcurrent, overvoltage, under voltage, overload, excessive heat, and vibrations.
Objectives:
Our planning to carry out this project includes:
The components we will use with estimated price are:
i. Three Phase Induction Motor (3 KW)
ii. Over Current Relay
iii. Over Load Relay
iv. Phase Sequence Relay
v. Vibration Sensor Module
vi. Temperature Sensor
vii. Pic Microcontroller
viii. Circuit Breaker
ix. Contactor
x. Current Transformer (CT)
xi. Potential Transformer (PT)
Milestones
1st Quarter of the year: Literature review, mathematical modelling.
2nd Quarter of the year: Simulation of some faults.
3rd Quarter of the year: Simulation of remaining faults and Implementation on hardware, results analysis and thesis write-up for final submission.
1) As per proposed protection Scheme, we want to conclude that the scheme will protect three phase Induction Motor from various electrical faults i-e under voltage, over voltage, over current, over load, unbalancing, vibration, and single phasing.
2) If we implement this project in industry, it can prevent the loss of millions.
3) This Protection Scheme increases the lifetime of the Induction Motor.
4) Protects the 3 Phase Induction Motor from electrical damage.
