In this project a DAQ has been designed and implemented for measurement of electrical parameters like current, voltage, apparent, active, reactive powers and power factor in single phase circuits, Total Harmonic Distortion and Mecchanical Paremeters like RPM, Temperatue, Humidity and Level  detection of Fuel in Tank. The costs of National Instruements modules are usually high, in this project low cost DAQ is made . The entire module is USB powered. This task is divided into five separate segments. First segment Current and Voltages Signals are acquired to the DAQ module through CT and PT separately, then  these acquired Signal are used to measure desired output in LABVIEW. In second segment RPM is mesured through Proximity sensor, Temperature and Humidity is  measured  using DHT11, Level  detection of Fuel is measured using Ultrasonic sensor, these are used to measure the desire output in Arduino.  

Project Objectives

1) Make a Low Cost DAQ module.

2)Which will meausre and control the Electrical as well Mechanical Parameters.

3)Main Objective to make a low cost DAQ module for Rachna Eclecrical Machine's Laboratory, for measurenet of electrical and mechanical Parameters of motors.

Project Implementation Method

First thing in project is software selection which are compitable and easy to use for consumer, so LABVIEW and Arduino Softwares are selected.

Then Hardware selection is done according to requirement, for Voltage measurement Potential Transformer is used, this AC voltages are transformed into  dc Voltages as Arduino measure 5Vdc max. and for Current measurement Current Transformer is used it has max 5A rating.

For RPM mesurement using Proximity sensorit has 4000 rpm.

Temperature and Humidity measurement using DHT11 has temperature from -31 to 80 centigrade and humidity 0 to 99.99%

Level  detection of Fuel measurement using Ultrasonic sensor can measure the tank with height of upto 5 meters.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Data Acquisition is one of the best measurement systems created for quick analysis of real physical signals. Data Acquisition is the way towards gathering or generating information in an automated fashion from analogue and digital measurement sources.  DAQ is the most recent and quick strategy to perform measurement. So the essential stage of DAQ has been gotten and measured by using sensors and programming has been created. DAQ module is simply USB powered i.e 5V and 4-20mA

In this project DAQ module is made of Arduino and a GUI is made in LAbVIEW. Company LabVOLT has a DAQ of National Instruments which is very expensive, in this projecct Arduino based DAQ has been made.

 In this project  DAQ's sensor can measure in these ranges:

Voltage: 10 - 240V

Current:: 0.01- 5A

Power Factor : 0.1 - 0.99

RPM :50 - 4000

Humidity: 0 to 99.99%

Temperature:  -40 to 80 Centigrade

Fuel Level: height   5 meter
