Project Objectives

To inject electrical power efficiently and safely into the grid, with accurately match the voltage and phase of the grid sine wave AC waveform. To Develop a Simulation model of Grid Connected Inverter. To Design an Economical low cost Grid Connected inverter.

Project Implementation Method

Grid connected system are used between local electrical power and the grid. Grid connected system converts DC into AC and accurately matches the voltage and phase of the grid sine wave AC waveform. A Grid Connected system enables a home owner to use an alternative power generation system like solar without extensive rewiring and without batteries. If the alternative power being produced is insufficient, the deficit is sourced from the electricity grid.

Benefits of the Project

In this modern society, conventional fossil energy increasingly will be dried up. To overcome this problem solar energy was used to substitute of the conventional fossil energy source. Nowadays solar energy system primarily contains two types. The first one is connecting with utility grid and the second is an isolate power system . The PV system can provide a continuous power supply during the grid blackouts, and it can inject the excess produced power in the electrical grid during the day periods.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

A grid-connected system allows you to power your home or small business with renewable energy during those periods (daily as well as seasonally) when the sun is shining. Electric utilities allow net metering, an arrangement where the excess electricity generated by grid-connected renewable energy systems "turns back" your electricity meter as it is fed back into the grid. If you use more electricity than your system feeds into the grid during a given month, you pay your power provider only for the difference between what you used and what you produced.
