Design and Development of Robot as a service (RAAS) for object lifting and placing in Hypermarket Warehouses
The project is about the automated guide vehicles which are going to use in the hypermarket warehouses and also led towards the reduction of labor with the adoption of the robots. The main objective of the project is to replace the labor with robotic technology which will help in managing the warehouse. Replacing the labor will also help in reducing the labor costs up to 70%. This project is going to implement in Pakistan that this country is far away from the technological aspects. The adoption of robotics in the warehouses of Pakistan is the first time and this will also create hype when the project will implemented. There are many benefits of adopting the robots in the hypermarket warehouses that these robots will increase productivity and make the secure and fast working environment which also free from errors.
The other purpose of implementing this project is that robots provide accuracy and robots didn’t required to take breaks. This will enhance the performance of the company or organization where these robots will working. There are many chances of human errors in the working environment but this adoption will reduce these chances and make a productive environment. The overall project is depending on the three primary things which are artificial intelligence, warehouse management software, and sensors (Locus Robotics, 2021). These three things are the combinations of competitive robot and the robot which fulfill all the need and requirements of the warehouse. The proposed project would also contribute in providing benefit to the companies which have been facing damage and low revenue due to less employee or poor retention. It has also been evaluated that the intended project would also help in replacing the workforce and it would also save the cost of the employees working in the company. The company just has to invest one while developing the robots and once the robots has been developed, they can easily take advantage and benefit from it accordingly.
The evaluation of the assessment has also contributed to accomplishing the fact which identified that automated guidance vehicles would contribute to maintaining the reputation of the company. The project would require 2 billion for the appropriate execution which would help in depicting 50 robots in the time span of 1 year. There would be a significant requirement of engineers and programmers who would contribute to evaluating the features of the project accordingly. After the appropriate execution, most companies around the globe can take consistent benefits from robots that are less harmful and would save the environment from major environmental hazards. The project would also make people aware of the contribution of robotic technology as there are so many companies around the globe that are unaware of the contributions of robotic technologies (Orderhive, 2020)
The objective of this project is the adoption of robots in hypermarket warehouses. The adoption will be very beneficial and gives a very significant outcome. The adoption of robots in the hypermarket's warehouse will replace labor which will also be very beneficial for the hypermarkets as they can less their cost and increase productivity. There are many brands and companies which are using robots rather than hiring labor for their products. The biggest example of using robots over manpower is Amazon that they are using robots in their warehouse which works precisely and accurately. The adoption of this technological aspect will also spread awareness about robotics technology and create a new sensation within the market.
The main objective is to adopt the little robots which help in lifting and placing the little boxes or other little objects within the warehouse. There are many benefits of adopting this robotic technology that the human error rate will be decreased, the other factors which create problems will be removed. There are many chances that humans can make mistakes as the boxes or other objects will be broken by labor, so the robots will help in avoiding these kinds of mistakes and increase the productivity within the brand’s or hypermarket’s warehouses (Petro, 2020). The implementation of this project will be firstly done in the hypermarket warehouse as they have a large amount of stock which required much labor to manage things, so robots will become the help for them as reducing the labor.
The robots are capable of working more accurately and precisely and also one robot will be capable of handling 10 labors work. The adoption of the robots also reduces the labor cost as the robot will take 10 men to work so there are diverse changes that will be found in the costs. As the labor will be replaced, besides this, the human error chances also decreased and the adoption of robots will focus on the productivity within the hypermarkets.
As there are many organizations and companies which are working on robotics and providing very efficient robotics models. The one thing which is common in all kind of implementation in the robots is artificial intelligence (AI). The implementation of this project required three primary things that helped in the implementation and the development of the robots. The machine learning and artificial intelligence, response capability, and the better sensors for the robots and warehouse management system are going to be a part of the robots. These three things are the essential parts of the development of the robot.
According to the report of McKinsey & Co, it is known that adoption of artificial intelligence increase the incremental value up to 89% within the industry of logistics and transportation. Incremental value on the retailing side also increases to 87% with the adoption of AI. Artificial intelligence technology will be divided into two categories which are augmentation and automation. The automation category will be used in the implementation of the robots that automation category will able to work without the interference of any human. The implementation of the response capability and the sensors will be done on this project which makes the robots safer and becomes more intelligent. There are many kinds of the sensors that will be implemented in the robots such as audial sensors and the visual sensors will be placed in the robots which help robots in seeing the objects and the places. Also, these robots have the capability to record and observe the sound by detecting the people by their voices (Bowles, 2020). This can be said that artificial sound recognition (ASR) technology will also be placed in these robots. The implementation of the haptic and thermal sensors are also be made on the robots which help them in detecting the equipment and objects to equip from the location and places to other locations. The thermal sensors are used to check the temperature of the places and the objects and the haptic sensors are implemented that this will allow all robots that they can perceive the touch.

This project will be implemented in the hypermarket’s warehouse of Pakistan. In Pakistan, all hypermarket warehouse management has physical labor which required high costs. The implementation of this project will help in reducing the costs by over 70%. The adoption of this technology in Pakistan is considered new and this is the first time that any hypermarket use robots over labor for the management of their warehouses. Besides the reduction in the costs, the robots also give benefits such as proper stock management and proper placement of products or objects will be done by these little robots. The accuracy rate becomes high and the human error rate will go to zero because robots never make mistakes, they do as they are instructed.
The adoption of robotics in Pakistan also helps in creating awareness of this technology and many others will come forward to adopt this technology in their hypermarkets. There are already many big hypermarkets that have large warehouses, so this project will be very beneficial for them as when they come to know that this technology will reduce the labor cost up to 70% and provide the precise and accurate results as they want (Shaikh, 2019). The implementation of these robots in Pakistan is considered as the startup in the adoption of the technology, this becomes the way for others to take a step ahead in the technology as Pakistan is way back from technology and robotics.
There are many other benefits that will take place by adopting the robots in the warehouses. The productivity level in the hypermarket warehouse of Pakistan will be increased much by replacing the humans. The major thing about the adoption of this project is that robots will be capable of giving safety in means of utilization. The speed will also increases in the working environment because the robots don’t require time to take some rest as they can work consistently 24 hours without taking a break. The main benefit is that the robots will give perfection in the work and deliver quality and it increases the consistency that robots never divert their attention to some other things.
The project is basically on the implementation of the automated guided vehicles (AGV) which are also known as portable robots. These robots are in the form of fork lifters, manual carts, and conveyor systems that manage to lift and move products and objects in a repetitive way. The project also focuses on the AGVs that with the collaboration of artificial intelligence, WMS, and sensors, the AGVs become smarter and replace humans. For the implementation of this product, a heavy budget is required. The requirement of developing these robots are very costly. The artificial intelligence technology will be used in the implementation of robots as AI plays a very important part in the development of a robot that AI considered as the brain of these robots.
The haptic, thermal, light, proximity, acceleration, and sound sensors are going to use in the implementation of these robots which increase the performance and enhance the productivity level for the warehouses. The warehouse management software will be used for these robots in which all information about the warehouse such as products, location, and many other things will be stored. This software will be work as a guide for the robot that helps in remembering everything. The cost of this WMS software will cost $50 million for a year. The fishbowl inventory system will be installed in these robots because this company provides safe and secure software and free from errors with cheap rate. The subscription will be bought for all robots that the customers will able to put their desired data according to their different warehouse managing systems (Fishbowl, 2021). The remaining cost will be sued on the land rant, bills, taxes, errors, and many other things that will be done unpredictably.
