Recently the home security system has been very poor. This Thesis consist of a smart door lock system that provides a good solution for improving home security. This is a simple project made with Arduino Uno. The purpose is to control the door lock without keys using the smartphone Arduino IDE software have used to upload code to Arduino Uno board and Bluetooth hc-05 module connected to it and that Bluetooth module is controlled via smartphone in which we have used android application to control the door lock. The main aim of this thesis is to design and development of door and device controller using Arduino, HC-05 BluetoothModule and Android application, so that people can feel safe about their home whether they are away from home or in the house. This project is based on Arduino, and the coding is done on Arduino IDEplatform using the Arduino application. At the end of this thesis aim and objectives of the project was achieved. People can now feel more secure about their doors all the time. Doors can be controlled conveniently to those with access. Physically challenged people can open or lock doors from their fingertips without asking help of anybody. It is safe to say that the main objectives and the aim of the project were achieved at the end of the project

The aim of this project is to design and implement an intelligent department security system using Arduino and a Bluetooth system that can help improve the security of home and community department’s properties.

  • Design and development of a Door Lock System without using keys to improve home security. This Door Lock System can be controlled via a Bluetooth Module to establish communication between the Smartphone and Door Lock System with the help of Arduino UNO and Android Application.Design and development of a Door Lock System without using keys to improve home security.   • Design a smartphone application to control the movement of doors.
  • The Arduino interaction with the smartphone via the Bluetooth module to establish a communication between Arduino smartphone.
  • Controlling the position of the 12v solenoid lock to open or close the door I was controlling and processed due to microcontroller response.

Hardware required for this project

  1. Arduino Uno
  2. 5V rellay module
  3. 12v soldnoide lock
  4. 12v power supply
  5. 12v bettary cell
  6. jumper wires

Software required 

  1. Android Application
  2. MIT App Innovator IDE 
  3. Arduino IDE
  4. C++ programming

First we made list of components which were required to create this project and we have describe each component in details with their features, applications and pictures. How we connected these components here we have defined in detail.

CONNECTIVITY

1 st Connecting 5v Relay Module to Arduino Uno

  1. Ground pin of 5v Relay Module to the Ground pin of Arduino Uno board through breadboard.
  2.  Vcc pin of 5v Relay module to the 5v pin of Arduino Uno board through breadboard.
  3. out pin of 5v Relay module to the pin no 13 of Arduino Uno board

2 nd Connecting HC-05 Bluetooth Module to Arduino Uno board

  1.  Ground pin of HC-05 Bluetooth Module to the ground pin of Arduino Uno through breadboard.
  2.  Vcc pin of HC-05 Bluetooth Module to the 5v of Arduino Uno through breadboard.
  3.  Tx Pin of HC-05 Bluetooth Module to the Rx pin of Arduino Uno.
  4. Rx Pin of HC-05 Bluetooth Module to the Tx pin of Arduino Uno

3 rd Connecting 12v Solenoid Lock to the 5v Relay module and Battery

  1. Positive (+) wire of 12v Solenoid Lock to the common port of 5v Relay module.
  2. Negative (-) wire of 12v Solenoid Lock to the negative (-) wire of battery.

4 th Connecting Arduino Uno to Arduino Uno IDE via USB cable laptop to upload the code

Benefits of the Project

This is a simple project made with Arduino Uno. The purpose is to control the door lock without keys, and to use the smartphone. The development of departments may follow back 5000 years ago, and they have emerged along with civilization as human guards. From the first closure of machines to modern smart doors, many smart doors with a variety of functions are becoming increasingly popular. Traditional managers will see a significant decline in employment due to the smart department. With the growth of economic growth, automated departments are increasingly being used in airports, banks, supermarkets, hospitals, hotels and office buildings.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

This project provides an idea of how to control door locks. Design and development of door and device controller was used as an example of an internal and external key lock system. It also provides collateral once easy for smartphone users. This is a smartphone-based project and an Arduino platform for both which is Free Open Source Software. So the start-up rate is inexpensive and is sensible is the average person. Achieving Bluetooth wireless connection to the microcontroller allows system installation in a very simple way. The plan has been successfully designed and modified to control the door situation using a smartphone. Bluetooth-enabled phone and Bluetooth modules with Bluetooth HC05. Simple prototype discussed for this research purpose.
