Extent of this project basically incorporates planning of proficient framework for Wind Turbine through Doubly Fed Induction Generator(DFIG). Another finished result will be Power convertor based VFD which will be utilized to control the rotor frequency.
Design and Control of Maximum Power Point Operation of Wind Turbine
Extent of this project basically incorporates planning of proficient framework
for Wind Turbine through Doubly Fed Induction Generator(DFIG). Another
finished result will be Power convertor based VFD which will be utilized to
control the rotor frequency.
Due to increasing energy demand, efficient energy conversion is in demand. Wind
energy conversion efficiency is dependent upon relative speed of wind turbine to
upwind speed. Conventional Wind turbine are either constant speed turbines or
use VFD in main energy supply line. Proposed idea is to control the electrical
frequency of rotor to provide the desired frequency at output. Power convertor
based VFD would be used to control the rotor frequency.
Our Proposed idea is to control the electrical frequency of rotor to provide the
desired frequency at output i.e. If the mechanical speed of rotor increase due to
wind speed we have to lower the electrical speed of the rotor in order to get a
fixed frequency at the output.
Ns(electrical speed of stator) =Nr (mechanical speed of rotor) +Nr (electrical speed of rotor)
