We created an app that tracks a person's live location by giving them a bracelet with a GSM tracker inside. The target audience is people with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease but it can be used to track the location of babies, Children and people with mental disabilities. Furthermore, we can get a notification/Message whenever the bracelet user leaves the radius of your choice. We can set a schedule for the user so that they automatically get an SMS on their phones at the required time to remind them of their activities. The app also provides a location history of the user.
The objectives of this project are:
The project used the waterfall method. We developed the project in stages. The main reason for choosing this method was the low time constraints on the project. We first collected the requirements and then developed the prototype of the project. After that, we started developing the project. Then the final test phase began.
This bracelet helps track people with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. It can also be used for children and patients with mental disabilities. It reassures the caregivers of these people and prevents patients from getting lost or injuring themselves. We are also developing a tracking device that can be installed in other places such as soles.
I built a mobile app using React Native and Firebase as a backend and database. The app will display a login screen with authentication. You can perform CRUD operations on your account. Then add the bracelet to the app. After that, it will show the location of the patient and a radius around the house which will alert us if the patient leaves the house, This is done by getting the location from the bracelet and using the Google API. The bracelet consists of an Arduino Uno to which a GPS unit is connected and uses a lithium-ion battery to store charge and supply usable power.
