An Uninterruptible Power Supply is an electrical apparatus that provides power to the
load when main source fails. A DC UPS is a device that gives power to dc load in case of
power failure. A dc ups uses single conversion method to supply power to load. Only
rectification is required in dc ups to supply power to load. This is a 12v dc ups system.
This system is based on charging a battery from main AC source and solar panel. Then
battery supplies power to dc load with the help of buck booster according to requirement
of load. Voltage can be regulated with help of buck booster. P and N channel MOSFETs
are used in the chargers with diodes. Transistors are used as switching devices to on and
off load. The brain of this system is a microcontroller. Microcontroller operates on 5v and
keep the system on by giving signals. A 10Watt solar panel is used to charge the battery
in case of failure of main source.
