Project Summary

In today’s fast-changing business environment, it’s extremely important to be able to respond to client’s needs in the most effective and timely manner. Online Shopping is a lifestyle e-commerce web application, which retails various fashion and lifestyle products (Currently Men’s Wear). This project allows viewing various products available enables registered users to purchase desired products and also can place order by using Cash on Delivery (Pay Later) option. This project provides an easy access to Administrators and Managers to view orders placed using Pay Later and Instant Pay options. In order to develop an e-commerce website, a number of Technologies must be studied and understood. These include multi-tiered architecture, server and client side scripting techniques, implementation technologies such as programming language (PHP) and relational databases. This is a project with the objective to develop a basic website where a consumer is provided with a shopping cart application and also to know about the technologies used to develop such an application. This document will discuss each of the underlying technologies to create and implement an ecommerce website.

Project Objectives

Many people in Pakistan and abroad like handmade and traditional handicrafts and other art works. Geographical areas of Pakistan such as Waziristan also have a very rich culture and heritage. Domestic products especially handicrafts are been delicately prepared for centuries and sold in the local markets. The workers have very limited access to national and international markets for receiving better prices for their products and return on their hard work. Unfortunately, no proper representation exists for their artwork and craftsmanship. Through this venture “DawarZon” we intend to bring these pieces of art into the mainstream and give them ample representation at the national and international levels.  We intend to combine the traditional product delivery model with online tools and marketplaces for their efficient and timely delivery and large-scale availability. Our venture will not only help alleviate the deprivations of the underdeveloped and underrepresented region but will create a better soft image of the region both at the national and international levels.  “DawarZon” will also provide an online shopping facility for traditional

Project Implementation Method

A user can view available products but only registered member can purchase multiple products regardless of quantity.  There are three roles available: Visitor, Member and Admin.

A visitor can view available products.

1. A member can view and purchase products.
2. The admin has some extra privilege including all privilege of visitor and user.

Admin can add products, edit product information and add/remove product. Admin can add user, edit user information and can remove user.  Admin can ship order to user based on order placed by sending confirmation mail.

1. Homepage: The Home Screen will consist of screen were one can browse through the products which we have on our website
2. Clothing page (products): This page consists of product details. This page appears same for both visitors and users.
3. Contact us page: Visitors and Registered users can contact website owners or administrators from here.
4. Login page:  Login page for both users and administrators.  
5. Admin page: Only difference you see in this page is Role: Admin. User and Admin role will be checked once the page was login and Session [“role”] will be either Admin or User. If credentials belong to Admin then role will be Admin and if credentials belong to User then role will be User.
6. Payment: Once users orders products they are redirected to payment page
