Project Summary

Intended to provide Urdu writers the most convenient and appropriate tool to write and process language. The proposed web application will provide the facility to convert your speech of Urdu language into written form, which can further be processed. Keyboard typing will also be available for better experience. All text editing can be applied like text alignment, font sizes and types, bold, underline, text colouring, highlight and much more. Images can also be added to documents with editing like image crop, alignment, borders etc. The user will also be able to apply page formatting including borders, page colour, page numbering, watermark, margins and page layout. Furthermore, you can print document directly or download in printable form like pdfs. The word processing web app will provide cloud storage facility using direct storage link with google drive. User login facility is also available to provide remote working.

The application will be designed keeping an eye on the struggles that a common end user has to face. GUI will be user-friendly as well as self-explanatory. No special training is needed to learn the use of ‘Dastoor’.

Project Objectives

The aims of designing the proposed system are providing:
1.5.1. Writing without using keyboard
The major problem faced by users during writing Urdu language is that typing is tedious and mostly keyboards do not have Urdu alphabets mentioned on keys which makes typing even more difficult for common end-users. We are providing keyboard-less typing which is dependent upon your speech’s clarity.
1.5.2. User friendly environment
Dastoor is designed in such a way that a person who has no background knowledge of computers or document editing could use it. The features are self-explanatory and easy to use. 
1.5.3. Image insertion
A document looks incomplete it does not have images and figures to elaborate the complete meaning of written text. Dastoor allows you to add images to documents which can be edited to fit properly according to your choice.
1.5.4. Remote data storage
Dastoor allows cloud storage of data on Google drive. You can save documents directly in Google drive by connecting your Gmail account to Dastoor app. It allows users to work on same project remotely. You can login at any device and start your resumed work.

Project Implementation Method

The project will be available online and everyone can use it by searching its name. It can be used online as a website and can be downloaded to PC as a web application.

Benefits of the Project

Urdu is national language of Pakistan and Pakistanis use it daily in their regular conversations. That’s why a specific Urdu writing software is need of time. It has a huge scope in various fields.
1.6.1. Govt. employee
Urdu is declared as official language of Pakistan in Act 1973. But unfortunately, it has not been completely implemented in offices due to difficulties faced in typing and compiling Urdu. We are introducing Dastoor so that writing Urdu could become easy and quick. 
1.6.2. Book writers
Poets and Urdu novelists need to hire typist who can convert their hand-written publishing to printable form. This app will help them write more efficiently directly in printable form. 
1.6.3. Use in courts 
Judicial documents are written in Urdu language and are hand typed. Dastoor will help in quick typing of legal documents and stamp papers. 
1.6.4. Visually impaired
Dastoor is good for visually impaired persons who cannot write using keyboards or pen. They can write using their speech.
1.6.5. Newspapers and magazines
Dastoor is helpful for writing newspapers and Urdu magazines. As newspapers need to be published on daily basis and news-reporters have to go through long and tedious process of writing. It is good to go app for everyone who wants all in one tool for writing language.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The executable file will be shared. All documentation is ready. Frontend of web application is already complete. Working on backend is in progress. Final application will be ready with in next 15 days.
