Smart home system is used to provide convenience, safety and energy efficiency for residents and to reduce human labor. System is designed and developed by using Arduino controller which can control and monitor different interconnected appliances. Wi-Fi is used for wireless connection between smartphone and appliances. Following appliances are controlled:
Fan/heater , lights , door and curtain.
The Smart home system will turn off unnecessary appliances automatically, hence saving the energy.
To provide safety in emergency situations.
To provide convenience.
To apply our engineering knowledge in Electronic Circuit Design.
System is designed and developed by using Arduino controller which can control and monitor different interconnected appliances. This project will implement the home automation system in the following two configurations:
In scheme (i.) the appliances will be completely controlled through thresholds set according to each appliance. The appliances are turned on and off based on the status of appliance and predefined ranges for temperature and light intensity.
In scheme (ii.) when mobile phone is connected, all controls will be handed to mobile and user can control all appliances through mobile.
Whole project will be implemented in real time in our project room. In which lights, fans, curatins and door are controlled automatically using sensor values. All apliances can also be controlled through mobile.
