Project Area of Specialization Computer ScienceProject SummaryThis app will detect the currency image capture by a camera then that image would recognize through image processing and produce a voice message (How much money is it?. As the image of note or coin could be in different orientation so that we will use too many orientation in our data set for that purpose.
Project ObjectivesThe number of blind persons in Pakistan in the year 2020 will be 2.4 million.The recognition of currency is a very important need for Blind and visually impaired people. Blind people faced transection problem with someone as they are not being able to differentiate between currencies correctly. It is very easy for them to be cheated by the others.so there is a need of a application which helps the visully impaired people in order to detect the value of currency in voice form(output).
Project Implementation MethodHere some important components used in this app is:
- Voice recognition system used for recognize the commands.
- Image acquisition is used for capturing images.
- In Image processing technique for removing noise and improve the quality of paper note we used different techniques or functions in Image processing phase.
- In machine language phase we train our app by inducing our data set here it’s a process of template matching where the note would be match to the specified note in our data set.
and here are some languages used.
- Python(frontend & backend)
- Open CV(library)
- Machine learning
from that system the person( visually impaired) is now able to transect with someone by capturing the image from mobile camera through this app by giving command to the app " open the camera".
Without any fear the person can transect with someone eaisly.
The perosn is now satisfied with this app
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThis app totally helps visually impaired people the app capture the image by a command is recognized by voice recognition and that is “open the camera” after that captured image passes through different phases one is image processing then after uses of different functionalities of images processing the image is now ready for matching with data set images which is the machine learning phase here the output the blind person obtained from that app in voice form. The System has been written in python and open CV library under android platform.
