Crowd Sourced Parking Managment System
Parking is a major issue in almost every country. finding the right parking spot on time is very important but impossible as well. to find the parking slot we often waste our fuel and precious time in cruising around and ends up in a no-parking area thus to avoid this hectic situation we came up with a smart solution which provides us ease of managing time and allows us to work smartly CPMS (Crowd Sourced Parking Management System). It is step towards smart solutions in our daily life. This process has clear advantages, such as reaching a wider range of users. the system builds a community which interacts in a way which help everyone. CPMS eliminates the cost of sensors and other Hardwires and uses humans which eventually reduces cost of operations and maintenance of system.
The main objective is to provide ease in society when it comes to parking using crowdsourcing. This is a smart solution which is time-efficient and cost-effective as well.
The idea is to give society a mechanism which fits in their daily life and completes the operation of providing fast and reliable parking space without compromising on performance.
The project aims to provide a sensor-less solution for car parking system, instead, the crowd (users/mainly the drivers) will perform as sensors. This app let the drivers know before time about the vacant parking slots, thereby, saving time as well as fuel which may be wasted while roaming for searching a vacant slot.
The driver signs up for the app by entering the information related to car owner’s name, car owner’s CNIC, car registration number, driver’s name and driver’s CNIC. Once registered as a user, the driver will be informed about the status of parking slots. The user can provide the status of other vacant parking slots which she can see in her parking block.
The app depends upon the input from the users for vacant/occupied slots. Each (registered) user when releasing or occupying a parking slot should update the parking status using the app. In addition to this, each slot will have a physical indication, two LED bulbs (red for occupied and green for vacant), for the slot status.
The driver will be informed vacant slot in the parking before arriving there. if driver gets the parking slot, he will collect the E-ticket after parking in slot and E-ticket will have information about arriving time, slot number, users name and unique token ID for security purposes. For leaving the parking slot the driver has to update the status on application (vacant) then the barrier of parking premises will allow driver to leave the area.
