With the advancement in technology, health care environment has developed based on wireless-sensing node technology. Much problematic situations have been faced because of lack of patient monitoring when required. The current scenario of COVID-19 has requirements such as distancing and monitoring.
We are proposing an innovative project to avoid serious risks, by using patient health monitoring using sensor technology and integrating this system by assistive technology with a smart medicine dispenser acting as a virtual nurse. It will not just only remind on prescribed time but will keep a record of the medicine intake of patient communicating it through internet.

Project Objectives

Design a monitoring system for COVID-19 patients. Design a smart pill box to facilitate the paramedic staff. Design a wireless system for data communication and analysis. Design an IoT based GUI for remote monitoring & control.

Project Implementation Method

Our proposed method consists of two main parts i.e intelligent continuous monitoring of COVID-19 patient and smart medicine box.
Patient body temperature through DS18b20 temperature sensor, pulse rate and oxygen concentration in blood through max30100 pulse oximeter will be continuously monitored and DHT11 sensor for room temperature and humidity sensing through ESP32 Wi-Fi Module remotely. Supervision of patient via surveillance camera will further provide safety and ease to the paramedic staff as it would give remote audio visual access of isolated patient.
On the other hand Smart Pill box includes a DS3231 Real Time Clock module through which a prescribed dosage time will be set by the doctor. Once the time occurs patient is indicated as LED lights, Buzzer rings and LCD gives display.
Doctor will be notified in cased of missed medication and all the data will be stored in cloud for monitoring and control.

Benefits of the Project

Remote monitoring of COVID patient will minimize the medium of spread of virus and hence on a broader spectrum will make the world pandemic free.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

A sensor based monitoring prototype for blood oxygen concentration, heart beat and body temperature measurement, and room atmosphere temperature and humidity sensing. A pill box allowing proper control of patient medicine intake and timing by doctor through an internet portal.A wireless two way audio communication enabled camera.

A developed app to remotely control and analyze patient by paramedic staff.
