The proposed work is an effort to rate the drinking water and decide about its quality in order to save people from drinking harmful water.
For the proposed project, water samples will be collected from different areas like rivers, lakes etc.
After the collection of water samples, water drops will be placed on a slide to take its microscopic image. After completing water dataset, harmful pathogen in water will be labelled after which best model will be selected which gives good accurcy and dectection rate. Next step is training the dataset after which a GUI will be designed to provide an easy way of using the proposed software.
For detection, again water drops from water samples will be placed on the slide and its picture will be taken. That picture will be loaded in GUI and run it to get the detection of harmness in water.
For water quality analysis, PH and TDS meters will be made. TDS meter will show that the water is able to drink or not as well as perentage of water quality could be calculated whereas PH meter will show that the water is good for agriculture or not. Sensors will be used in the proposed work.
Project ObjectivesThe proposed software will be integrated in an early warning system for water borne diseases. In future, it could also be used to detect biomedical; warfare agent. Other objectives are:

Relevance of national need
- Quality of drinking water is a major issue in Pakistan.
- Most of the population depends upon flowing water for drinking and irrigation purposes.
- Almost 93% water is used in agriculture in Pakistan in which unfiltered industrial waste is mixed which is very harmful for agriculture and marine life.
- Pakistan is not only exposed to bioterrorism through its flowing water from neighboring countries but also prone to severe water diseases like cholera, helminths, algae etc.
- First a microscope with good magnification is needed, preferably a magnification of about 400×1000x. The optics must be good in order to see pathogen clearly and properly. For more magnification e.g., 2000x to see maximum pathogen shape, 25x or more is recommended. In case of using phase contract options, there is no need of staining.
- A camera (connected with computer or laptop) is placed on the top of microscope to take the image with the dimensions 1000×1000.
- Image is saved in PC/laptop.
- As soon as image is loaded in the proposed software, within few sec pathogen will be detected with their names and detection rate.
- PH and TDS will show the quality of water by just putting them in water sample.
- Main benefit to detect the harmful pathogen of water in less time and without any effect (using of PCR etc)
- Get detection with their name which help everyone to known about the harmful pathogens in water and way to kill this pathogen.

- If you use high magnification, then no need to Waite for 2 or 3 days.
- The final deliver able will be fully functional software with a camera to take microscopic image of water sample and detect harmful water pathogen with its name. This software will show complete information about the detected pathogen and help how to kill this pathogen.
- PH sensor will be controlled by Arduino with the help of code to perform all the desired functionality like telling PH of water and whether water is good for drinking, agriculture and other work.
- TDS will also be controlled by Arduino with the help of code to perform all the desired functionality. And for GUI, two water samples are required for TDS; first is tap water and the second one is filtered water and it will show the percentage of water quality.
