Dynamic Wireless Electric Vehicle Charging Road
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryAs the world is moving from conventionally fueled vehicles to EVs, because of being environmentally friendly. However, EV is still facing some draw backs in terms of its low range, due to less battery backup, and charging procedure, because of which EVs are not as common as they should be. Focusing on charging issues, compared to the old plug-in charging, DWEC has no contact between the load and the electric supply therefore it is more convenient and safer, because of which DWEC is a batter charging process for EVs. As the large charging time is the major concern of the EV users, due to lack of charging stations or people forgetting to plug-in the charger when the vehicle is parked.
Project ObjectivesTo develop wireless charging solution for EV’s while they are driving.
Project Implementation MethodThis project focuses mainly on the wireless charging of the EVs on the motorways. Two coils will be used for this process based on the electro magnetic induction phenomena. The electricity generated primarily will be from solar panels for day time as that is the time most of the vehicle’s travel take place. By night time K.E supply will be used so that the cost of the batteries could be saved and the solution could be economical.
Benefits of the ProjectA major advantage of this technology is the lack of wires.
Having a wireless charging system can potentially reduce the size of the battery that is used within the vehicle.
The next advantage of wireless charging is time-saving.
