Project Area of Specialization Mechanical EngineeringProject SummaryConstrained torsional analysis of multi-cell thin walled tapered composite beams, in cantilever configuration, of different composite materials, different layup configurations, different lengths, different tapered ratios and different loading intensity have been analyzed through FEMAP with NX Nastran. All the tapered beams analysis of three cell cross section under cantilever configuration have been carried out. The constrained condition analyzed is that of the cantilever multi-cell tapered composite beams with a torque applied at the free end of the beam. Torsional behaviour of multi-cell tapered beam is affected by length, geometry, materials and layups. FEMAP with NX Nastran is used to carry out a torsional analysis.
Project ObjectivesTotal five case studies of linear static analysis are carried out. The variables in these analysis studies are, different layup configurations, different materials, different taper angles, different lengths and different loading conditions.
