Project Summary

This Project is based on Computer Vision which is sub part of Artificial Intelligence, we are making an attendance system which will use IP CCTV cameras or Android Mobile Phone to read students faces and will automatically take their attendance and put it into database, it will be totally automated, the students attendance will be accurate and will save a lot of time, it will also be capable of to generate every student attendance percentage for each class subjects, yes the same system is available in market but that is limited to device or devices not versatile like our project, our goal is to make it as more versatile as it can be like you can connect multiple IP CCTV cameras and any brand, it will also work with any android phone so instead of buying multiple attendance devices  a single computer system and multiple cameras will do the job. So long short it will cut off the excess cost of buying multiple expensive devices.

 

Project Objectives

Our Objectives Are:
1: To reduce the headache of taking attendance by teacher himself.
2: To reduce the wastage of time which wastes at the time of taking attendance by teacher.
3: To reduce the class bunking.
4: Revolutionized the traditional way of taking attendance into digital automated system 
5: To reduce the proxy system during attendance system.
6: Make it environmentally friendly by changing the traditional paper attendance system into digital system.
7: Make it cost effective.
8: Make it accurate as much as possible.
9: Make an easy manageable system.
10: Make a versatile system which will work with any computer and any brand cameras.

Project Implementation Method

Project implementation method is that there are both hardware and software components we will use Python language in this project for writing the script programming the software, PostgreSQL or MySQL as database while on hardware side we will use CCTV IP Camera or Android Smart Phone for visuals and a raspberry pi as database and basic system while we will use Nvidia nano jetson for AI training which will train model for our facial recognition system, afterwards we will implement this software in raspberry pi which will be connected to a Poe switch as well as CCTV IP Cameras or wireless AP for android phone, Every camera will be installed inside a room where class will be taken, the software will automatically detect class timings and each class students and their class times as well as their subjects and will take their attendance according to the subject class time.

Benefits of the Project

There are a lot of benefits of our project but some of which are that it will reduce the time wastage as well as it will be result gain in attendance of student in their classes, it will reduce the ratio of class bunking or any other proxy system which happen during traditional way of taking attendance at class, it will make easy for the education sector to manage their students attendance and keep their record in digital form which is way more secure than traditional paper which get decompose with the passage of time, this project will also help to generate each student attendance percentage automatically and so on, this project is more focused on software so we are focusing to cut off most of the expensive hardware cost so the benefit will be it will be more affordable then already available expensive attendance system, and as we specify before it will work with any brand CCTV Cameras Or any Brand Android phone which will make it more open to use from cheap to expensive cameras.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Technical details of final deliverable are that it will consist of a computer hardware, our made software and IP Camera or Android Phone Camera, IP Camera or Android phone camera will be use for Visuals(Video) through which our software will read students faces and take their attendance  There will be basic GUI, there will be a proper Database for the system to save attendance and other details of students, it’ll will take students attendance with time condition for example a class start from 8:30 so the attendance process will start from 8:30 and you can specify the end time for attendance time through software for example you can give 10 minutes for attendance which will be like from 8:30 to 8:40 other then this time students attendance will not be recorded if they come late after 8:40, so it’ll be a well organized software.
