Project Area of Specialization Computer ScienceProject SummaryLivestock is one of the largest subsector of Pakistan agriculture, which contributes approximately 56% of value addition in agriculture and nearly 11% to the gross domestic product (GDP). According to these numbers there is a lot of potential of growth in this sector but unfortunately there is no digitised system in Pakistan therefore the growth potential is not fully utilized and majority of small scale livestock vendor do not get enough opportunities to sell their livestock. Another major problem is butcher booking for the slaughter of the livestock especially at the time of Eid-Ul-Azha.
Our project focus on solving these two major problems by developing an android application for the use of livestock stakeholders mainly vendor, buyers and butchers.The app provides all types of livestock vendor whether it be a small scale or a large scale vendor, equal opportunities for selling their livestock.The app also provides flexibility to consumer to book trusted and skilled butcher at a desire day and time without any hassle.The app also allows users to buy their desired animals for Qurbani without visiting different places in search of the animals moreover the app allows the user to book butcher according to butcher's location and experience in their work.The app also have user rating and recommandation system where buyer can rate seller and seller can also rate buyer.User can also rate butcher according to their performance and butcher can also rate the user. higher rated seller and butcher will be recommanded to the user.
Project ObjectivesThe objective of the project is to provide a platform to livestock sellers, buyers and butchers to interact with each other conveniently.Synchronized communication between buyer and seller, butcher and user is made possible with this app. Another objective of this project is to provide equal opportunities to small scale livetsock vendor to sell their animals in the competitive market of Pakistan.By using the app the livestock stakeholders can ensure convenience, profit and growth without investing huge amount of money.The market size increased for livestock vendor to sell their animals to those people who cannot reach them easily to buy their animals.
Project Implementation MethodOur project is an android application which uses API 16 and java for the development purpose.Firebase is used as the database which stores all the information regarding all the activities that are performed in the application.Our project is divided into three parts where two parts consists of android application and the third part consist of desktop application that is developed in C#.Livestock seller and buyer have one app and butcher booking is performed in another app.Therefore to manage all the processes a desktop application is made for the admin to lookafter all the work that is performed on both the applications.The android application uses datastructures, database and object oriented concepts in developing the application.
Benefits of the ProjectOne of the major benefits of the project is that a small scale livestock vendor who had to travel long distances in order to sell their livestock and in this process they lose alot of money, will be saved from sepending money on travelling and renting places, they can directly post an ad of their animals and can sold them only using their smartphones. Another benefit is to the user that there is no need in travelling to different places just to buy animals they can buy their favourite animals using the app. At the time of Eid-Ul-Azha butchers are in high demand therefore they charge higher amount then the normal market rate and the bookings of the butchers is delayed or cancelled by the butcher due to availability issue. Our application solves this issues and butcher availability and market price are gauranteed.

- The user have device which support android lollipop or higher
- User should have basic understanding of using android application
Risks: The delayed or no response of database server due to overcrowding of server. One of the major technical risks involved in this project is android fragmentation but this risk is more serious when new android phones are getting more and more expensive as most people would be sticking to old android versions.Human error may leads to serious consequences, wrong information read will be processed and may result in serious problems.Every information entered has to be updated immediately, this features is handled at database level but if the volatile information in a form is deleted, it cannot be retrieved ;therefore,backup has to be maintained
