Expansion in MPLS by commissioning and integration of physical (p) routers for VM-ware and VOIP on customer side
Project Area of Specialization Information & Communication TechnologyProject SummaryThe exponential growth of the Internet over the past several years has placed a tremendous strain on the service provider networks. Not only increase in the number of users but there has been multifold increase in connection speeds, backbone traffic and newer applications as rapid growth continues, global communications becomes more dependent on Internet availability for information transfer. The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) introduced a new protocol, Multiple Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), to provide high-performance data flows within the Internet. It is basically a framework for WAN.MPLS is a highly evolved than its predecessors Frame relay and ATM in terms of providing solution for VPN, QOS, security, traffic engineering etc. As a result, today MPLS is widely used in supporting applications like voice, video and data on the internet. Most service providers migrates their backbone network from traditional Frame Relay and ATMs to MPLS
Project ObjectivesThe main objective of this project is to implement a reliable, scalable and high-speed service Provider’s network by using Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS).Which will provide services of VPN, Quality of Services (QoS), Traffic engineering (TE).
Project Implementation MethodThe project is designed, configured and simulated for learning and test to verify desired results in the following simulation platforms.
• GNS3 is used to simulate service Provider’s topology.
• VMware workstation is used as Customer?s machines.

1. The knowledge that we have acquired during our four years of study in the field of telecommunication, and networks, now we are getting a chance to integrate all that acquired information to a services Provider’s network and produces some usable application.
2. We will get hands on experience with skills that will help us to get jobs available in the market in our relevant discipline.
3. It will also help us to measure our skills according to the certifications available in the relevant field and to acquire those certifications
4. The project will also furnish us with the state of the art technologies in order to be able to work successfully and get into job market successfully
5. By applying this knowledge we will able to demonstrate our aptitudes/talent in field of networking.
6. We will get hands on experience with skills that will help us to get jobs available in the market in relevant discipline.
7. On the other hand, it will help us to understand professional and ethical responsibilities.
Technical Details of Final Deliverable1. Provider’s core network using GNS3 as Provider’s routers network hosted in PC.
2. All providers? Routers are interlinked with each other.
3. Provider’s Edge Routers interface with Provider Router through LAN Cards.
4. Provider’s Edge routers are connected with Customer Edge router.
5. MPLS Based VPN implementation.
6. Quality of services configuration and Implementation.
7. Traffic Engineering Implementation.
8. Provider’s network is connect to ISP (Internet Service Provider)
