Our project revolves around the study and use of brain signals. As we know that for every action of our body, our brain generated different signals. Detection of these brain signals can bring a vast field for the research and development of very new things. "Brain Controlled Wheelchair" is the project where we planned to accquire the brain signal of the person using NeuroSky( Headband ) through bluetooth/Wifi channel. Then, the recieved signals will be matched according to mentioned conditions of the trained model of machine learning. Then, the directive signal for controlling the direction of the robot will be sent from raspberry pi 3 to the robot. | | Project Objectives |
Objectives of this project are as following: - To develop a real time system for disabled people which detects the brain signals moves the wheelchair (Robot; as a prototype) according to the desired direction.
- To improve the detection method of the brain signals using machine learning algorithms using different data sets.

The steps towards the completion of this project are as following: - First step would be the understanding of different braing signals and their study.
- Then, we would be moving towards the usage of Raspberryp pi 3 .
- When the signals are accuiquired, so different signal processing techniques will be tested according to meet the desiredoutput.
- Machine learning algorithms will be used with the data sets of EEG signals.
- Then, we will be working on the integration of headband ( NeuroSky) and the raspberry pi3.
- At last, the conditions of moving forward or turn will be sent to the wheelchair ( a robot; as a prototyp) for the output.

Benefits of this project are as following: - To provide easiness for the physically disabled people who cannot move their body parts. So, they will be independent of other people.

Our project has the following main components: - BCI( Brain Computer Interface) : It is the bridge between the braing signals and the external device. In our project we are using "Nuerosky’s EEG headset" which is an example of BCI.
- Electroencephalography (EEG) : Through this method we save and record the activities of brain. We will be detecting EEG using brain signals.
- Electrooculography : This technique is used to save and records eye movements. EOG uses the electrical changes due to muscle-related movements in the ocular region to detect events such as blinks.
- Bluetooth : It is an global communication standard for devices on a free channel of frequencies. It has transmission distance of 10m.
- Microcontroller/Arduino : Microcontroller is unlike a mirocprocessor, it has RAM, ROM, EEPROM, I/O Ports etc on the same integraded circuit. We will be using a arduino for this.
- L298N Motor Driver: The motor driver is basically uses with the low voltage control signals for deciding the motor direction. It uses high voltages for giving power to the both motors.
- NeuroSky’s EEG Headset :NeuroSky’s EEG headset detects and measures the brain signals and uses bluetooth for transmission of these signals.Furthermore, meditation, detection of eye blinking and the concentration level can be accquired using this device.
- Attention eSense Meter: First of all, the beta waves which are coming from brain are manipulatd uisng this. Then, the focus of the user will be detected using different algroithms.
- Meditation eSense Meter : Alpha waves which are coming from brain are manipulatd using different algorithms. Using this we will be decting the mental relaxation levels.
