Project Summary

Batteryless wireless sensors in a network that avoid batteries to transfer the energy wirelessly to the sensor nodes. The method of transferring energy to the sensors wirelessly is the Radiofrequency Identification (RFID) system. A network with routing and switching contains the batteryless wireless sensors providing industrial solutions without using batteries energy to facilitate their needs/requirements using the RFID system.

In this Network, the batteryless wireless sensors have functions of wireless power receiving, sensing, and communication between devices. Problems and opportunities will analyze, and expected opportunities in order to solve the anticipated problems with wireless sensors.

Wireless sensors have been used in a wide range of applications, including security, industrial control, Home appliances, Door-lock System, Light switches, Automotive and biomedical. Most of the wireless sensors use batteries as a power source. It can be easily calculated that for a building with Number of wireless sensors installed, which can be very common for a smart building, assuming a battery life of 3 to 4 years, batteries need to be replaced every day. Therefore, from the cost, convenience, reliability, and environment, there is a strong demand for batteryless wireless sensors.

Project Objectives

  • In this Network, the batteryless wireless sensors have functions of wireless power receiving, sensing, and communication between devices. Problems and opportunities will analyze, and expected opportunities in order to solve the anticipated problems with wireless sensors.

In the RFID system, the energy is transferred wirelessly from a reader to a tag to activate the tag for decoding the message. The RFID systems started from low-frequency (LF) to high-frequency (HF) bands.
