Human brain remember the things it goes through in real life or spend time while visualizing it. From the learning perspective visual elements are more most effective. We are proposing intuitive simulator for hajj training. Proposed system will guide the user by allowing them to perform all steps of hajj in the simulator and repeat the process until they are confident. For novice user system will guide the user through a demo how to interact with the system and perform actions. In case a user skips demo but at some point in simulation user can’t complete a task system will give hint to perform that action. For the activities like prayers a rendered animation video will be played to avoid any misleading act in respect of sharia. Unity/Blender will be used for creating 3D models of all location and places involved in Hajj steps. Unreal Engine will be used for developing simulation and adding VR functionalities, moreover Google VR APIs will be used to make simulator work with mobile phone.

Project Objectives

Reading is not liked by everybody, most persons have weak memory, they cannot remember things for long time. Especially aged persons with weak memory can’t remember things for long time, and illiterate persons can’t read the guides and manuals. Hajj is a Religious Fariza, every step of hajj should be performed more carefully. Learning through visual elements like video demos make remembering things easier. Old age, illiteracy, and weak memory of individuals creates problems to correctly and perform many important tasks especially tasks like Fariza of Hajj. This demands a through visual element like video demos make remembering things easier. Proposed systems aims to help the elder persons with weak memory and illiterate persons who can’t read the booklets or manuals. Every year millions of Muslims perform Hajj, many of them are elder ones and few of them can’t read. Proposed system is intended to help these persons perform the Hajj in perfect manner.

Project Implementation Method

System will be implemented as a 3d simulator for user to interact as he is in real environment.  Models of place involved in Hajj steps will be created in blender. Some of complex models will be bought from online stores to meet the deadlines. Using 3D models in Unreal engine real environment will be created. All 5 Days of Hajj will be represented as a single task. All 5 five tasks will be combined into an android application and embedded into a VR Headset. A mobile application, which will allow user to interact with 3D simulator and complete all the steps of Hajj using a VR Headset.

Benefits of the Project

Project will benefit the Muslims all around the world, as initially it will available in two languages Urdu and English. Project targets to benefit the aged persons and person with week memory to remember the whole Hajj process. As Hajj is a religious Fariza, it should be performed with responsibility. Project will reduce the chance of making mistakes in Hajj process.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

End deliverable will be a VR Headset embedded with and android application. VR Headset accompanied with Controllers allowing user to interact with system. Android application will be created using Google VR APIs to support VR Headset, 3D simulation will be created in unreal Engine. Using Oculus SDK for android, android app will be deployed to VR Headset.
