In the live video It will detect weapon and captures the image if gun is detected. That image will be saved in the external memory which is attached to raspberry pi. Live location will be sent to police and ambulance using gsm. Object detection technique is used to test on variety of images dataset with different gun positions and lightning conditions. Dataset is trained by using Haar Cascade Algorithm. We train the system by providing negative and positive environment. In conclusion although it is the best security system which will work the way for the surveillance system to help reduce the crime rate in this era of rising crime.
Project Objectives- To develop Smart surveillance System.
- To detect gun from live video.
- To recognize the detected gun using a suitable algorithm
- To send alert message of detected gun along with live location and other details.
- To save the captured image for record.
The proposed system is encompassing with single board computer (raspberry pi) that is connected with a pi-camera. The other end of the project is incorporated with a GSM module which is also connected with raspberry pi. Firstly, we create a dataset for training images. After collecting dataset, we trained the system by using Haar Cascade Algorithm. After that we write a python script which uses trained files for gun detection and capture image. GSM module is used to send alert notification to police and ambulance.

This serves as the automated live gun detection system that will send the live location to police and ambulance if it detects any gun and will help to secure the bank. Use of the gun detection through camera will increase the security of bank because this system detects weapon in milli seconds.
