Many wild-ranged and crowded areas are focused to be clean and calm, but still we humans were unable to achieve this goal. These bigger areas include universities, hospitals, and housing schemes which can be hardly swept and sprinkled with limited manpower.             

A solution for this problem is proposed and design autonomous sweeping and sprinkling vehicles that can sweep areas autonomously that start, move and stop automatically, in case of heavy waste uses its bucket and sprinkle water using dual delivery pump based on condition regularly.
     
This autonomous vehicle is to be made using different sensors like radar, Lidar, cameras as night vision and thermal camera, Complex algorithms, Processor to execute software, and GPS to locate the vehicle.

Project Objectives

Mainly, sweeping and sprinkling water is target-oriented without human interactions in the most effective ways. Here are some objectives of this project:

  1. We first build a raw frame for the vehicle consisting of tires, steering, and vehicle frame.  We plan to use the baby car frame for the initial start. 
  2. Integrate with it pure vacuum and bucket which are used to sweep and take the waste based on condition to deal with
  3. The dual delivery pump and its equipment are adjusted to sprinkle water accordingly to the certain condition required.
  4. Test the vehicle with the attached equipment while teleoperating.
  5. Fit more cameras in order to interpret the real-world rightly including thermal cameras to defend themselves from warm materials.
  6. Build and incorporate complex computer vision and machine learning algorithms for the perception and learning itself.
  7. More sensors are used to aware of near and far surrounding areas and also be used GPS to locate them.  
  8. Integrate all sensors properly with their relevant working as with motors and its sensors in an optimal place to sense.

Project Implementation Method

 This autonomous vehicle  is to be implemented using different combined equipment;

  1. The frame or the body of the vehicle will be based on the kid's electronic vehicle.
  2. Attach motors and electronic controllers to teleoperate the vehicle.
  3. We will upgrade the electronic vehicle by integrating various cameras like night vision and thermal cameras to interpret the real world.
  4. Attach pure vacuum, bucket, and sprinkling water mechanism.
  5. The small bucket used for the heavy waste to be dealt with and dual delivery pump to sprinkle wide-ranged areas if needed depends upon the weather and its temperature.
  6. We will use the raspberry pi processor to execute the data coming from all sensors and then by implementing complex machine learning algorithms.
  7. We will make the agent give commands to the actuators using battery current to proceed accordingly to the date which is fed to it.
  8. Eventually, GPS is integrated for the path planning and makes the vehicle move autonomously.

Benefits of the Project

Some of the key benefits of our projects are:

  1. Automatic cleaning of the waste using an autonomous vehicle reduces manpower.
  2. Keep the environment clean autonomously which was remained unclean for days done manually humans.  
  3. Implementing this project will reduce human stress and will make them out of this difficult work to have their environment safe and calm.
  4. It will lessen pollution which is made while sweeping in such wild ranged areas.
  5. It will salvage human beings from different diseases which are caused by air pollution such as Chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and Acute lower respiratory infections.
  6. These wild ranged areas will be swept and sprinkled in a very short time compared to be swept and sprinkled by limited manpower.
  7. This autonomous vehicle will not disturb visitors at day time because it is to work at night time using night vision cameras.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable


This autonomous vehicle is made to confer the correct deliverables as 

1. We will design and implement the hardware of the vehicle.  Converting the ordinary kid's vehicle to a teleoperating vehicle by fixing motors and other sensors.
2. The autonomous vehicle moves and navigate its path autonomously using different sensors and computer vision path planning algorithms.
3. Computer vision and machine learning methods with the help of sensors' data to  move in an unknown environment. 
4. GPS will be used for the path planning and navigation.
5. Raspberry pi will be attached for the processing of commands.
