Autonomous Solar Grass Cutter
Automation is rapidly growing in the present technology. So automation plays a vital role in the agricultural field which is helpful for the farmers. In the earlier days, the grass cutters were used manually handheld devices. Because of this, there was pollution and loss of energy as they used gas and petrol engines. Manual grass cutter is time consuming also. So the old grass cutters need to be replaced by automated ones, where the system is aimed at developing an autonomous solar grass cutter embedded with height adjustment, obstacle avoidance and path planning mechanisms. The autonomous solar grass cutter utilizes energy from the sun via photovoltaic panel to charge the battery for continuous performance of the solar grass cutter. Height adjustment technique is used to cut the grass on same level which look good. The obstacle avoidance and path planning for area covering of the solar grass cutter were achieved using image processing techniques. The efficiency evaluation of the machine is based on the primary set objectives of obstacle avoidance and path planning in terms of area coverage, energy consumption and machine intervention.
