Automatic PCB Printing Machine
1-Problem Statement:
1-We are modifying the inkjet printer and make it capable so that it can print any kind of layout design on PCB.
2- We are automating the etching and showering process.
3- It is our engineer’s best interest to make such type of machinery which can not only consume less time but also avoid the messy process of etching and cleansing of PCB board.
1-Motivation:
We got the motivation of this project from our faculty members, seniors and from own personal experience that we need to make such type of machine which can help the upcoming engineering students to make there work easier.
2-Justification:
As we know that the world is now a global village, and this is only happened because of vast technology. Nowadays, devices are being invented by the help of integrated circuits. We engineers are passing through various challenges in designing of those integrated circuits called PCB’s, among them etching is the most messy and time consuming work .So to avoid all those difficulties we have decided to create such type of machine which can not only print any layout on PCB by the help of printer but also do its etching and showering process automatically.
3-Indigenization:
In Europe countries, and in abroad even in Pakistan, in some multi-national companies CNCmachines, automatic 3D printers and automatic PCB printer are used to simplify the electronic projects. And they are extremely expensive machineries .We are trying to implement PCB printer with the help of those devices including sensors, micro-controllers , motors which are easily available in market.
4-Cost:
As far as the cost of PCB printer is concerned, existing solutions are of expensive that can’t be used extensively in market. As we are making this project for the university level students, so we should devise ways and means to decrease the cost, so that we can take maximum use of technology.

•And the process of etching and cleansing will be automated with the help of controller by heater , ferric chloride pump , water pump and
•Blower
The main objective of our project is to facilitate the engineering student by making the process of etching and showering automatic with the help of modified form of micro-controller which is arduino. We have modified the inkjet printer so it can easily pass the PCB.
First of all add the FeCl3 in the designed tray then do the drainage process .
Repeat the same process for water and petrol. Finally we get the etched and clean PCB.
Methodology
1-Conveyor Belt:
The process is start from conveyer belt; we placed our PCB on it so PCB will move inside the printer by the help of conveyer belt.
A conveyor belt is the carrying medium of a belt conveyor system (often shortened to belt conveyor). A belt conveyor system is one of many types of conveyor systems. A belt conveyor system consists of two or more pulleys (sometimes referred to as drums), with an endless loop of carrying medium—the conveyor belt—that rotates about them. One or both of the pulleys are powered, moving the belt and the material on the belt forward. The powered pulley is called the drive pulley while the unpowered pulley is called the idler pulley. Belt conveyors are generally fairly similar in construction consisting of a metal frame with rollers at either end of a flat metal bed. The belt is looped around each of the rollers and when one of the rollers is powered (by an electrical motor) the belting slides across the solid metal frame bed, moving the product. In heavy use applications the beds which the belting is pulled over are replaced with rollers.
2-DC Motor used for driving conveyor belt:
The printer motor was unable to rotate the heavy conveyer belt so we have used a motor which have high voltage of 24 v.
A brushed DC electric motor generating torque from DC power supply by using an internal mechanical commutation. Stationary permanent magnets form the stator field. Torque is produced by the principle that any current-carrying conductor placed within an external magnetic field experiences a force, known as Lorentz force. Since this is a single phase two-pole motor, the commutator consists of a split ring, so that the current reverses each half turn ( 180 degrees). This motor will turn the pulleys of conveyer belt and hence the conveyer belt will start to move in forward direction.
3-Inkjet printer:
1- Creation of Image:
When the PCB will enter in the printer, the image formation phenomena will start taking place. Inkjet printers have grown in popularity and performance while dropping significantly in price. An inkjet printer is any printer that places extremely small droplets of ink onto paper to create an image. If you ever look at a piece of paper that has come out of an inkjet printer. The dots are extremely small (usually between 50 and 60 microns in diameter), so small that they are tinier than the diameter of a human hair (70 microns)!
While earlier printers often had an external transformer, most printers sold today use a standard power supply that is incorporated into the printer itself.
4.7-Heater:
We have attached the heater at the output of printer so the printed circuit will get dry off. Induction heating is the process of heating an electrically conducting object (usually a metal) by electromagnetic induction, through heat generated in the object by eddy currents.

Technical Details

After came out PCB through printer Sensor sense it through microcontroller and conveyor belt starts running through motor driver
As PCB is arrive on heater it will sense it heater turns ON after this process conveyor belt starts run and PCB move to next Step here Etching and Cleasing should be done
After this Ferric chloride step should come and after that water pump Air blower and Petrol spray step should be proceeded.
