Project Area of Specialization RoboticsProject SummaryThe solar pane is exposed to open environment and the dust particles decrease the power output panel .when the dust deposited on the panel the power output of the panel .the different studies deals that how the dust particles decrease the power output of the panel. The study Nasser shows that 8.91% decrease per eleven days. Depending upon the location the value of decreasing in power output varies as the tiny dust particles act as billions of resistors that may resist the flow of current . The factor of dust particles that decrease the efficiency decreases when the tilt angle increases up to 48 degree. the other study Muhammad raza maghani shows that 0.2% loss per day due to dust accumulation on to clean the solar panel. The method that is described is the heliotex technology when the pump is installed in the tank that is kept below the panel the nozzle is connected with the piping system of the pump. the drawback is that person required to turn off and on the cleaning mechanism. the other is microcontroller based automatic cleaning of the solar panel .the different countries uses different technology , in turkey the company name “Mazaka” which make cleaning mechanism invented over tractors and crawlers, but using on the engine may produce emissions . the design we will going to fabricate have zero emission. The smart solar photo photovoltaic cleaning mechanism consists of two units autonomous unit and robotic unit. The autonomous unit sends message to the robotic until the power output should not be the same as in clean condition.
the design which is going to be fabricated had some specifications that it saves more that 15% power output of solar panel.the system will be operated on Wi-Fi Module and programming will be done on C+.the desgn can be operated in such a way that that no labor would be required and full mechanism will be automated.
Project ObjectivesThe project is fabricated for improvement of the solar panel users. We providing transparency in cleaning system by using the most newly invented technology, which provide a better performance, integrity, consistency, cost-effective and scalable solution for the removal of dust and specks.
This system is control by application which can be installed in the mobile phone and even in laptops. For using in a simple way we are using Arduino microcontroller and connect it with dust sensor and the customer may easily operate it when they feel like power output decreases.
Also this system reduces manpower for cleaning of solar panel. This is automatic solar panel cleaning system.
when a labor is climbed to the panel chances of breaking may cause short circuit to the cell and more hazerdeous for the working labor.
water savege using the designed mechanism
Project Implementation Methodthe project will be implemented in our university solar panel farm that is about 1MW.
With the help of experiments we conclude that the panel will loose 15% of efficiency so to recover the efficiency in an automated way we designed a mechanism which will be operated in an easy way that no external source is requiered to operate the system
Benefits of the Projectthere are some of the benifits discussed over here:
1. No labor is required to operate the system.
2. this mechanism will save bulk amount of water.
3. The system is safe as it will be operated using Wi-Fi or simoly android systems.
4. Technology is cleaned 100%.
5. it improves efficiency more than 15% that is lost due to dust particles.
Technical Details of Final Deliverable1. D.C motors.:
three DC mootors will be connected that to the frame that one motor will move the horizontal frame and the other will move the frame in vertical direction
2.Frame design.
The frame will be of such type that it can bear the weight of the mechanism and will be light weight.
3.Arduino Mega
arduino will be used to operate the system it will send command to the cleaning mechanism.
4. Module:
H bridge module and relay module will be used
