Project Summary

In this project GPS module tells the coordinates of the sun and exect position of the solar penel and RTC module help the time and date of that time when exact using the proposed project to utilize the free source of energy.The arduino use as a microcontroller  and  L293D driver IC use to drive the motors and adjast the solar panel in right direction.

Project Objectives

Developing a system that will constantly track the sun light.

Tracking system that utilize the maximum solar energy.

Find the geographical location of the system through GPS.

Use of astronomical equations to determine the position of sun.

Use of microcontroller based rotating serve motors.

Project Implementation Method

it is clear that the solar tracking system plays an important role to guarantee the maximum solar energy generation from dawn until dusk. The solar tracker’s control system successfully calculates and generates the sun’s trajectory path through the year. Moreover, the tracker also capable to position the PV panel towards the sun automatically during deployment or initial set up.  In addition, the embedded PID positioning system will improve the tracking angle accuracy in locating the elevation and azimuth angle up to ± 0.2 degrees.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Sun is a cheap and clean source of producing electrical energy.To get maximum energy, solar panels must be in front of the Sunrays the whole day.A rotating solar panel is a good solution to utilize solar energy.An Auto-rotating solar panel using astronomical equation and GPS is an efficient solution to get maximum sun light throughout the day.GPS based system which can be used at any location.Based feedback to locate and track sun position continuously time by time.To collect solar energy for the longest period of the day, and with the most accurate alignment as the Sun's position shifts with the seasons.An optimal control on two axis and design for solar tracker which called altitude and azimuth.UTC is the time standard commonly used across the world. Processing the data with high efficiency and able to deal with theComplicated equations, gathering the required data from GPS Card and manage them in uninterrupted real time controller
