Artificially Intelligent Patient Health Monitoring and Treatment System using IOT.

The aim of the project is to design an intelligent device that is capable of monitoring the patient health and suggest/inject the appropriate treatment in the presence and/or absence of the doctor using internet of things (IOT).

Project Summary

The aim of the project is to design an intelligent device that is capable of monitoring the patient health and suggest/inject the appropriate treatment in the presence and/or absence of the doctor using internet of things (IOT).

Project Objectives

Objectives:

  • To interface blood pressure sensor module, temperature sensor, ECG sensor, and pulse oximetry module with microcontroller and send the patient’s health related data to the doctor through IOT.
  • To analyze the data by using Neural Network.
  • To design and develop a mechanical structure for the injection of medical dose to the patient in case of emergency.

Project Implementation Method

Methodology:

The main purpose of our project is to design an AI based patient monitoring system using IOT that is capable of sending patient data online to doctor and prescribing medicines to the patients when doctor is not logged in via internet on web page and also to achieve minimum cost with better accuracy. The doctor can check the data whenever he wants, by simply logging in the web page. The web page has some unique login id and password. Doctor and patient can login when they need to analyze the data and then doctor can prescribe the medicine according to patient condition. Sometimes, doctors are not available and don’t have enough time to check the data of patient. So, we interface Artificial intelligence which can suggest a medicine in case of emergency when doctor is out of zone. For making a precise and accurate AI system, we collected data from different doctors by telling them the conditions of various patient. Then from their help, we organize a table which contains different medicines with respect to different ranges of our parameters (Blood Pressure, Oxygen level, ECG, Temp. etc.).

A mechanical pump is also designed, used to give dose three times a day in the absence of caretaker. The pump is simply made with rack and pinion and lead screw method. Once the dose is store in it, it can irrigate patient for two days by giving medicine 3 times a day. Leadscrew mechanism is used to inject the medicine inside the body. And when the medicine is fully injected the caretaker have to refill the pump. By this way, an AI based system using Internet of things will be designed and entertaining the patients with its services.

Benefits of the Project

Our AI Based Patient Monitoring System has been designed to help doctors observe the vital signs of patients remotely via a web-page and to help people who are in need of a hospital living in rural areas but cannot reach there and also in case of absence of doctor, to prescribe medicines to the patients accordingly. This system has many applications after it has been fully developed. No need for the doctor to visit patient again and again, the doctor can observe patient’s vital signs by sitting everywhere in the world via a web-page.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Our designed IOT based system can automatically send data to the doctor via web-page. Also an AI based medicine prescription system which can prescribe medicines in absence of doctor.
