Blind stick is an innovative stick designed for visually disabled people for improved navigation.The blind stick is integrated with ultrasonic sensor along with light and water sensing. Our proposed project first uses ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles ahead using ultrasonic waves. it will help the disabled people to move easily.

Project Objectives

The main objective of this project is to help blind people to walk with ease and to be warned whenever their walking path is obstructed with other objects, people or other similar odds. As a warning signal, a buzzer is connected in the circuit, whose frequency of beep changes according to the distance of object

Project Implementation Method

Firstly, all the parts should be collected that we are going to use in making of the project. Here is a brief list of the parts used in the project.

  • An Arduino Uno.
  • An Ultrasonic sensor (HCSR04).
  • A 9-volt battery.
  • A 9-volt battery connector.
  • DC male power jack.
  • A Buzzer.
  • Some Jumper wires.
  • A Broken cell phone from scratch.
  • A Toggle switch

Other tools and parts used in this project:

  • A stick on which the box should be attached.
  • Adhesive Glue.
  • Some small screws for mounting Arduino.
  • Screwdriver.
  • A box for putting Arduino, PCB, sensors, buzzers and wires etc. properly.

Benefits of the Project

The advantage of our project is that it can detect any obstacle with the help of ultrasonic sensors and it can provide correct location of obstacle by using the GPS system. Thus it will help blind people when they are walking outside from their home

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Final Deliverable will contain

A fully functional stick having ultrasonic sensors and moisture sensors with precautionary notification voice. it will help disable person to guide them by speaker and buzzer
