To summarize this project. It's an app which will augment anatomical models from a book onto your mobile screen.
We need this because of the massively common use of mobile phones in school level students. A mobile phone has bridged the gap between many things. Quality education is one of those things.
By this we aim to imrpove the learning process of a student by modeling the diagrams of anatomy in practical notebooks and make them pop up on a mobile screen when the camera detects a tag on that specific page.
Models will have a 360 degree view. Minor animations will be added depending on the object.
Students can view whatever object they like and have a better understating of the scale, proportions, shapes and working of the object.
Aims:
To help ease the lerning process and maybe even try to make studying more interesting for young students.
To help the students adapt to this new way of learning.
To help use the mobile phone for educational purposes too.
The goal is to display models in highly rendered graphics to give the users more realistic experience and improve their learning.
For now this project will only model the objects present in the 9th grade practical notebook.
Models will be rendered in a rendering software.
A user friendly and aesthetically pleasing app will be developed.
A database of 3D objects will be created and integrated into the app.
A database of tags will be created corresponding to their unique 3D object.
Object recognition and tracking will be done through our app's camera. So when it picks up a tag, its corresponding object will appear on the screen.
This project will bring a new way of learning in Pakistan especially to the pre-med students where anatomy of an organism is important.
Students nowadays are more familiar with a cellphone than with a book and this app will help them learn without losing their interest.
Suppose a student wants to learn about the working of a digestive system of a human, then they can just view the high detailed animated model which is also interactive to view the parts more thoroughly.
Models will be rendered on Autodesk Maya or Blender.
App will be developed on Android Studio for a commonly used android version.
Vuforia SDK will be used to augment the objects on the screen, respective of their tag.
Rendering will be done on a high end workstation capable enough to render models and their animations in at least average time.
