Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryA prototype system that can control and sense level of different gases like CO,CO2 within the car and perform necessary actions to prevent suffocation in extreme weather conditions. Actions include automatically sliding down of windows and using fresh air intake to level the amount of gases and also with the communication module fitted in the vehicle so that if someone stucks in a car i.e kid, after sensing the certain level it will indicate about the incident to rescue services through a application so that they can resuce the person in car asap.
Project Objectives- Monitor levels of different lethal gasses within the car.
- Prevent suffocation in extreme weather conditions by automatic sliding of the windows
- Take control of the windows by interfacing the sensors with microcontroller.
- Indicate rescue services about the incident through communication module if the person is sitting in car.
First of all we will research about the minimum level of oxygen and maximum level of Carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide levels in which a human can survive then we will programme the controller according to those values. Sensors will sense the gases and if it exceeds a certain limit then the controller will perform the necessary actions in order to prevent the suffocation.We will use relays to control the windows of the car. There will be also communication module fitted in a car so that when the certain level of gases crosses it activates the communication module too, and also slide down windows. A communcation module will be configured to application through some location coordinates.
Benefits of the ProjectAs we have seen in the past few days, In Murree many vehicles got stuck in the storming snow and could’nt move. So due to the blockage of exhaust pipe level of Carbonmonooxide gas got increased within the car and caused deaths of many families as they were not aware of the situation.So to prevent such incidents in the future we have built a system that will be smart enough to perform all the necessary actions by itself including sliding down of the windows and fresh air intake to bring balance to the level of gases optimum for human survival. This device also indicates the resuce services about the incident and location so that they can come and rescue the people sitting in a car asap.
Technical Details of Final Deliverable- A prototype system that will sense levels of different gases within the car.
- A device with sensors that will be taking power from the battery of the car if the switch is on
- The device will be connected to motors of the window through relays.
- The prototype sysem will prevent suffocation due to accumulation of lethal gases due to exhaust cylinder blockage.
- If the amount of gases reaches a certain level then the windows will automatically slide down and fresh air intake will bring a balance in these levels.
- Indicate resucue services too about the incident and location of the car if someone is sitting in car.
