Project Summary

The unauthorized replication or illegal copying of an original item is known as counterfeiting. Nowadays, many counterfeit products have been penetrating into the open market, a definite way is very important for customers to identify whether their purchased products are genuine or not. Recently, it is estimated that counterfeit goods accounted for 5-7% of the world trade, and that over the last ten years counterfeiting has cut down 120,000 jobs every year in the United States, and around 100,000 in Europe.

The Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is a method of unique items identification using radio waves, typically a reader communicates with tags that hold digital information in microchips. The proposed system make use RFID technology to generate product anti-counterfeit messages and mobile devices or terminals are utilized to display the result to customers or end users.

In our proposed system customers can use their own digital computing devices i.e. their cell phones, tablets, or personal computers to check the genuineness of their purchased product. We offer Android App, iOS App and a web interface for Android, IPhone, and personal computer users, respectively. The Track & Trace system or RFID based anti-counterfeiting system can be accessed through the Internet. It is divided into three layers – the Application Server layer, the Data Management layer, and the Client layer. The Application Server layer provides client access to the business logic and user interfaces. The Data Management layer is comprised of the database itself and its database management system. The Client layer can be accessed through the Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (http) or through the Representational State Transfer (REST). This layer helps the user to utilize the intuitive interface and retrieve the results about product inventiveness, status and related information.

A person or party knowingly duplicates the product and then the counterfeited item is traded as original to grab its brand or trademark.Each product has unique tag to facilitate authentication operation. This characteristics helps the user to identify that either sold status of particular product is set earlier or not, because if it is set then the product is obviously counterfeited therefore system generates warning to the customer and the manufacturer. This system also provides the manufacturer to locate where there product is counterfeiting.

Project Objectives

Allow customers to verify the product. Gives outputs about the product sales to manufacturer. Detail of distributors and retailers. Distributer and retailers are able to verify the product sold status and update the track of the product.

This project is based on applied research in order to achieve social incentives. It entails great opportunity for MS and PhD scholars to take part in it and furnish their research work.

Project Implementation Method

The brief methodology of anti-counterfeit system is as under:

Anti-counterfeit system enables end users such as distributors, retailers and customers to verify the inventiveness of the product through smart phones or the computers. Distributor and retailers are able to verify the product sold status and update the track of the product, whereas customers can verify the sold status of the product and successful veri?cation ultimately set the sold status of the product. Each product has unique RFID tag to facilitate authentication operation. This characteristics helps the user to identify that either sold status of particular product is set earlier or not, because if it is set then the product is obviously counterfeited therefore system generates warning to the customer and the manufacturer. To facilitate authentication manufacturers must have to maintain or record information of their genuine product at the system. The system then generates a unique RFID against each product item. All Information regarding the products is kept on the speci?ed database of the concerned system. Distributors, retailers and customers can query this stored information for authentication by providing the unique RFID through smart phone or the computer. Anti-counterfeit system involves two important operations (1) RFID code generation and tracking (2) Authentication procedure. These operations take place as follows:

  1. RFID code generation and tracking:

The overview of RFID code generation and tracking blueprint is presented in Fig. 1, whereas the detailed description is as follows: Step 1: Clients or manufacturers access the web services of anti-counterfeit system to register their product by providing scrupulous information.Step 2: Against approval request, administrator verify the information provided by the manufacturers for the registration of their products.Step 3: The code generation system generates unique code for each item of the product on the basis of some prede?ned code generation algorithm.

    2. Authentication Procedure & Validation:

Authentication process not only allow customers to determine the inventiveness of particular product but it also provide similar facility to distributors and retailers in order to verify and update the track record of the product.

3. Integration

At the end all the project modules will be integrated in order to produce single applicable module.

Benefits of the Project

The project aims to design a coherent solution. The merits of portal technology enables the customers or end users, manufacturers, distributers and retailers to instantly and securely discern unfeigned products using developed anti-counterfeiting system. The portal also expedite remote access of underlying anti-counterfeiting system without geographical limitations. Additionally, this project is envisioned to bring the awareness or realization about counterfeited drugs. It is also capable to foster anti-counterfeiting automation and technologies.

Pharmaceutical industry and general public are aimed as the direct recipient for experiencing advantages of Anti-counterfeiting system. Since, Pakistan is the developing country facing diverse challenges to survive. Counterfeiting of drugs is one of them. More than 50 % drugs are counterfeited, which is the severe threat for the life of public.  It is therefore desperate need to encounter this challenge as soon as possible in order to prevent it from penetrating and dispersing in our society.


 


 

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Module 1: Application Frontend

                First we make Frontend of our application in which all app frontend implemented and checked which are better for our environment we use ReactNative.js to develop our frontend.

Module 2: Database

                After  making Frontend of our application We are going to develop our database we use firebase and AWS(Amazon Web Services) to develop our DATABASE. 

Module 3: Login and registration form

            After  developing our database module we are going to implement Login and Registrarion Form Module for this we use JavaScript and ReactNative Components.     

Module 4: Transaction Review

               After implementing Login and Registrarion Form Module we are going to encode our details in RFID and QRCODE and records our all Transaction module using javascript and ReactNative. 

Module 5: Company Information

                After  implementing Transaction Review we are going to implement Company Information.In Which we going for saved information of medicines in databases using javascript and reactNative. 

Module 6: Production Information

                After  implementing Company Information we are going to implement Production Information Module in this we implent the method of Verify the Medicines Geniuineness using javascript and reactNative.

Module 7: System Management

            After  implementing Production Information we are going to implement System Management in this we make ADMIN Panel USER Panel Retailer Panel Distributor PanelAnd Manage them Integrates them using reactNative.js and JavaScript.
