Tourism is an important pillar of a country’s economy. By the grace of Almighty Allah, Pakistan is blessed with many tourists spots of many kinds. Pakistan is capable of generating a large revenue by properly utilizing these tourists attractions. People love visiting Pakistan for its culture, traditions, beautiful landscapes and its historical background. Androidity Smart City Traveler provides a platform to ease the process of trip planning by asking users for their interests and time periods in which he is willing to complete his trip. It then provide user with a map showing an optimal path to places according to his interests. The user is also capable of viewing the pictures and information about the specific places in the trip. A user can also plan a trip manually or edit a system generated trip. User can also view nearby locations and a list of hotels, hospitals, emergency numbers, and restaurants will be given within the application to facilitate the users.

Project Objectives

As a complete and deliverable project, this application is expected to meet following objectives:

• Improve traveling experience for tourists.
• A step to ease the trip planning process.
• Overcome the gap in tourism.
• A positive impact on economy.

Project Implementation Method

The project implementation method is SCRUM. The project is divided into different sprints. Each sprint begins with a planning meeting. During the meeting, the members agree upon exactly what work will be accomplished during the sprint and at the end of the sprint the group decide whether the result are satisfactory or not.

Android Smart City Traveler is an application that can help in  the tour economy by giving tourist a platform to view different places of Pakistan and plan trips concerning their insterest with ease and efficiency. 

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The Android Smart City is mobile application developing using MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React Native, Node.js). The application can be used to plan trip both manaully (using just some taps) also automated trip that takes user hobbies and map/suggest  locations that are preffered by the people having the same interest using recommendation system (machine learning). The user can add the starting point of the trip also the time to complete the trip, The trip then will be planned and the path to location will be displayed using google maps. The google map also allow the user to filter locations at a specific distance such as hotels, restaurants, hospitals, pharmacy etc. The user can also manage his profile and trips.
