Android based water tank monitoring and motor control system using arduino
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryWater is the important natural resources that should be used more efficiently. In earlier days, users are supposed to visit their water tank to check the water level manually. Moreover, the uncontrolled use of water leads to wastage of water and it causes to terminate ultimately water scarcity. To avoid more human efforts and errors water automation system can be used. Users can also turn the water pump ON and OFF using an Android Application. This is an efficient and economical way to reduce water wastage and human efforts. Hence, there is a lot of future scope and the researcher should give highest priority to improve the system.
Project Objectives1. Facilitate the owner to control water pump machine wirelessly through Android app.
2. Monitors water tank level through level sensors.
3. Digitally control AC motor to supply/stop water to the tank. 4. Hardware implementation, firmware and application development.
5. App to monitor multiple parameters like.
• Water Level.
• Electricity Status
• Motor Status
• Motor Condition
6. To apply the right amount of water at the right time and boost performance by ensuring adequate water when needed.
Project Implementation MethodSENSORS & MODULES:
Following are the sensors which we are going to use:
• Ultrasonic Module.
• Water Level Sensor.
• LCD Module.
• Relay Module.
? ULTRASONIC MODULE:
An ultrasonic sensor is an electronic device that measures the distance of a target object by emitting ultrasonic sound waves, and converts the reflected sound into an electrical signal. Ultrasonic waves travel faster than the speed of audible sound (i.e. the sound that humans can hear). Ultrasonic sensors have two main components: the transmitter (which emits the sound using piezoelectric crystals) and the receiver (which encounters the sound after it has travelled to and from the target). Ultrasonic sensors are also used as level sensors to detect, monitor, and regulate liquid levels in closed container.
Benefits of the Project1. Facilitate the owner to control water pump machine wirelessly through Android app.
2. Monitors water tank level through level sensors.
3. Digitally control AC motor to supply/stop water to the tank.
4. Hardware implementation, firmware and application development.
Technical Details of Final Deliverable- The success of the project is determined at the very start of it – by specifying project goals, requirements and deliverables.
- Collecting the requirements gives the team an understanding of what the stakeholders expect from the project. Based on that knowledge, the team can introduce technical solutions to fulfill those requirements, define project scope and labor expenditures. The more precise the requirements, the better one can predict the budget, expenses, timeline, etc.
- The requirements should be analysed to see if they are complete, whether or not they contradict each other and if there are any obstacles to their fulfillment
- An introduction of a requirement analyst should be planned for a project that requires gathering/analysing the requirements. He/she should be aware of various approaches and techniques.
