The concept of a smart table in restaurants is a challenging task. The restaurant industry is looking for a system that can enhance the dining experience as well as to enlarge the profit. In traditional restaurants, the waiter takes orders from customers by writing it on paper then moves the order to the kitchen and then the billing is done which takes time and may cause errors. This project aims to automate food ordering and billing systems in restaurants as well as to give comfort and relaxation to the customers. The project outline different routes by which digital and analog technology may arrive at the table. It has a LED screen in the table which has software to display the data with a set of built-in features. The table consists of a voice recognition system so the customer just needs to sit on the chair, and a welcome message will pop up from the table in order to guide the customers on what should they have to do. For placing the order, the customer just has to say the specific dish name, and all the items related to the name will come up on the screen and simply they have to choose whatever they want. Once they choose the item, the table contacts the restaurant's main kitchen in order to finalize and confirm their orders, when the restaurant men confirm the order it shows the status to the customer table that how much time it takes to get ready. As normally in the restaurants the order takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes and in this period the customers are getting bore, but no need to worry now because this table also includes entertainment for the customers means when the order is confirmed then the customer can watch videos, cartoons, news, etc. by which they can passing their 15 to 30 minutes easily. In the end, the billing of the order is managed through cash or card on the restaurant's counter.

Project Objectives

Everyone needs the perfect table for their restaurant. A fine wooden table may be a traditional choice. Why not make a smart choice for restaurants. Normally, in restaurants, the order is taken by customer’s which is place on paper after that it is moved toward the kitchen which takes time. A Smart table that displays all the module with a set of built features and allow customers to go with the hurried response. No need to wait now on one click or through voice the order will place by itself. The design of the module is user friendly that help the visitors to place an order easily. Despite all this, we still faced many issues from which one of them is late service in restaurants which make your visit obnoxious and thenceforth you will never think to visit it again. By taking into consideration we are going to develop a project which assists restaurant owners in making good customers [8].The project will consist of creating a website for food orders and we will run this website in restaurants. In a nutshell, the idea is to make a smart table for restaurants.

Project Implementation Method

The Smart table system must have the ability to take orders through Voice and Touch System. After ordering the food, the Customer will be entertained by our built-in gaming features. Customers can pay through the Digital payment method on Smart Table. In this era, the availability of the internet introduces an emerging domain called the internet of things, artificial intelligence which has created a great impact in a very short period of time. These technologies have given us the concept of smart cities, industries, homes, and many other things. The system reduces the time of customers while ordering the food on Smart Table through the Voice feature and Touch system. The payment method is also available on Web Application of Restaurant so the customer can pay their bills by Digital Payment than the counter system.

Benefits of the Project

Living in the age of science and technology, we can see these things in our daily life and the things we use in our routine practices most common the cell phone and ext. By keeping this in mind we always tried to innovate the things around society. Wherever we travel, whomever we meet and whatever we use, we always try to get the best out of modern technology.

The smart table is the technology that will help the visitor to place the order on his table through a touch system or voice technology. The visitor doesn’t need to call the waiter or wait for the waiter to place his/her order. The smart table for the restaurant is made up of wood and a higher quality touch screen system installed on it.

The interagency of the table is to search the menu through voice technology that helps the visitor to place the order by sitting on the chair. The idea behind developing the AI system on the table is for the visitor to save time and enjoy the features. The smart tables will be a revolutionary change in our food industry. It will not only benefit the visitors but also make the profit for the owners in the long term period as they will cut the cost for the waiters.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

It is difficult to evaluate the technical feasibility because it is tricky. We have to consider a number of issues while doing the technical analysis. It also involves the estimation of the Hardware, Software, and other equipment requirements of the system. We have to be very clear about what are the techniques required for our project.
