Project Summary

As world population increase day by day, we need large amount of healthy goods to complete our needs. The World Health Organization estimates that there are more than one million cases in each year due to chemicals used in spraying crops. The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) type drones plays important role in enhancing the crops growth and minimizing the risk of chemical deaths. The health effect of pesticides causes cancer and many other respiratory disorders which leads to death. Agricultural fertilizers spraying drones used to minimize the risks, time, human effort and increase the production of crops. This project mainly focused on designing a light weight drone having payload for spraying crops. The drone is also able to take snapshots to monitor crop health.

The main source of Pakistan’s economy depends on agriculture. The agricultural production depends upon many factors such as rain, temperature, etc. The growth of crops is also affected by some biological factors such as pests, diseases etc. For controlling crops form pests farmer use spray which leads health disorder for them. Some areas where farmers could not access the crops directly pests destroy that area very fluently. Agricultural spraying drone can access every part of fields very precisely and spray properly by reducing the health effect. The main purpose is to design a Quad copter for spraying, snapping, measuring and monitoring crop health.

Project Implementation Method

We use agile method for our project because it provides us two benefits through out the process. Firstly, As we are working on automation so it is our need to test them to make quality better and make a secure product. Secondly, IOT based projects need feedback that new module added according to the specific need. Another benefit of using agile method, it increases the collaboration between team through which we can share our knowledge with each other that provide new ways to solve problems in a good manner.

  • Spray fields both manually and with path navigation also.
  • Provide live coverage of fields.
  • Monitor crop health.
  • Work in bad weather condition.

The final product is a prototype which fullfill all the functions mention above .
