Introduction:

chatbot is a piece of software that conducts a conversation via auditory or textual methods.[ Such programs are often designed to convincingly simulate how a human would behave as a conversational partner. Chatbots are typically used in dialog systems for various practical purposes including customer service or information acquisition.

History:

The first chatbot ever chatbot was created by Joseph Weizenbaum in 1966 and it uses pattern matching and substitution methodology to simulate conversation.

The program was designed in a way that it mimics human conversation. The Chatbot ELIZA worked by passing the words that users entered into a computer and then pairing them to a list of possible scripted responses. It uses a script that simulated a psychotherapist. The script proved to be a significant impact on natural language processing and unnatural intelligence, with copies and variants protruding up at academies around the country.

After that the development of chatbot continues to grow.

Some of tech giants like Apple , Google , Amazon etc use chatbots to increase the business productivity and customer services.

Problem statement:

From the research carried out in the literature review that modern financial and business services are constantly seeking to expand their technologies, both to improve customer service and increase delivery of services through the advancements in technology. This is to gain a competitive edge over other business for financial benefits and to expand its customer base. A domain specific chatbot will be implemented to assist users with their queries. In order to overcome the user satisfaction issues associated with online web based services. 

Proposed Solution:

The proposed solution is to create a chatbot to simulate a human conversation to assist users with their queries needs and to provide a more personal experience. Advancements in artificial Intelligence, machine learning techniques, improved aptitude for decision making, larger availability of domains and corpus, have increased the practicality of integrating a chat bot into applications . Users will be able to ask any business related queries in natural language that they are comfortable.

Our proposed model for chatbot is to help peoples with their questions and queries regarding department.

It will help them to find any information regarding department without wasting any time.
