Our group is developing a prototype mobile application that will serve as a virtual platform for event management for B2C (Business to Consumer) marketing. This will help eliminate the DIY approach and streamline the event management process.

Event management application is the collective term for a wide range of products used in the management of professional and academic conferences, trade exhibitions, conventions, meetings and as well as all sorts of ceremonies. Planning an event is a huge task. You need to find a venue, create the agenda, sort out seating plans and meal arrangements. Event management application makes the process less chaotic and helps to collaborate and communicate with vendors or attendees. It assimilates multiple event planning tasks in one single place. A major plus in this case is the time and money that it saves up. To originate this mobile application, we will use digital technologies which includes a wide range of electronic tools, systems, devices, and resources which will be thoroughly studied, understood, and used in originating this event management mobile application.

The technology tools required for programming/framework include Flutter, Android Studio and Firebase. Also, the digitals tools that will be used are Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe xd for UI, UX wireframing and story boarding of that mobile application. We will also learn, develop, and implement Digital Marketing strategy and analytics along with Google Analytics for this mobile application. Also, for the successful completion of this project, it will also require in depth understanding of advanced networking concepts such as DNS Mapping, Virtual Private Server, Cloud Computing, Web Services etc.

Project Objectives

There are many complexes in manual event management process and the manual process requires a lot of time and cost. Event management software/application is a solution that offers solutions about the arrangement, scheduling, and planning of an event from a single platform. Also, it allows the organizer to register events online, track suitable locations based on cost and availability, manage conferences/meetings, and even allows sending event details or emailing to the respective people/audience. Moreover, it also empowers the planner to conduct surveys or reviews to get feedbacks to further enable a personalized atmosphere for the audience to interact with speakers efficiently. It assimilates multiple event planning tasks in one single place. A major plus in this case is the time and money that it saves up for the event planners. It can be a life saver for anyone planning an event whether it is professional and academic conferences, trade exhibitions, conventions, meetings and as well as all sorts of ceremonies.

As a customer very aspect of your event is in the end in your own hands. Instead of coordinating among multiple people in the hierarchy, from event website, promotion strategy to feedback, every part of the process is under your direct supervision. You are the one making the final calls. As mentioned, event management software was created to make planning speedier and more efficient. That is why the overall user interface of this software is easy to get the hang of.

Project Implementation Method

The development of this app distributed into different phases. Each phase will be completed separately for the best result. We will be using several tools in orders to design and create this virtual platform for event management. These tools include Flutter, Dart, Firebase. Adobe XD and Adobe Photoshop will also be used for the UI/UX design of this application.The frontend development of the application will require the proper use of flutter framework which provides material widgets to develop an application.The backend development for this application will require the use of firebase. The services of firebase will be initiated in the flutter framework to be able to use firebase with flutter.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

FLUTTER

Flutter is an open-source UI software development kit created by Google. It is used to develop applications for Android, iOS, Linux, Mac, Windows. Flutter uses a variety of widgets to deliver a fully functioning application.

FIREBASE

Firebase is a fully managed platform for building iOS, Android, and web apps that provides automatic data synchronization, authentication services, messaging, file storage, analytics, and more.
