The Electronic Yarn Meter (EYM) is a commercial grade measurement tool capable of measuring the length of virtually any yarn at an extremely high accuracy rate. It is designed to be used with any ball winder or other tool capable of pulling yarn through the meter. You may even measure yarn by pulling it through by hand, if so desired.

We know of no limitations to its use other than the maximum diameter of yarn being measured should be less than 5/16". Ribbon yarn may also be measured through the EYM. With ribbon yarn, the ribbon should lay flat on the wheel.

Project Objectives

Modern Industries area carrying more automated work then traditional human involved system as it costs more manpower and cost, results are not so accurate in terms of production and quality maintenance. Textile sector of Pakistan is one of the top revenue generators. In textile industrial electronic automated system playing vital role and achieve top level quality, but still quality checking is not so effective. For this currently ultraviolet rooms are developed where human are involve to achieve this task manually. It is very difficult to observe each yarn cone to be correctly examined and identified by human. The temperature of humidity level of such rooms stays high level that’s why human being performance varies accordingly. The traditional yarn corn is placed in front of ultraviolet lights to identify the quality of yarn but still the size of corn, broken/damaged corns are observed by the workers which is still creating a mess of results.

The second part of this project to pick and place the object through robotic arm in particular places separately by quality conditions which detected through image processing

Benefits of the Project

High temperature and humidity along with ultraviolet rays causing improper checking and health issues to the workers in textile industries, this case improper quality checking process.

this project will help labours because working in the indrustry with this kind of high temperature causes health issue.
