Wireless Sensor Network Border Surveillance System with Drone Technology
In this project we have target one of the most high profile topic and the important concern of all the countries national security which is border security which put a great role in the geographical existence of that country. On the behalf of that reason we have implement the information technology (IT) for the border surveillance.
Our project works on the concept of border surveillance with the help of the drone by wireless sensor networks ,in which target to cover those areas where human are unable to reach at that area ,where drone has the ability to give surveillance on that suspicious area easily and inform the security troops about enemies details via camera .
Unmanned Aircraft system is one of the evolution in the IT industry ,it gives the new concept and people utilize it in different manner to achieve their task like in products delivery etc,just like that we have utilize it in border surveillance of unpleasant areas.
This drone is linked with some camera nodes which is placed on the border whenever it got some heat movement thermal camera detects its and generate a signal which gives the location of that area to drone and then drone autonomously (auto pilot)move to that specific location and give recording to the control station where security troops watch the area by camera on drone.
National security is one of the most critical scenarios for every nation. Many organizations trying to do harm their fellow countries for their personal prospective and agenda. The first step to let down any country is to make it internally weak for that purpose these organization send their intruders by breeching the border security, which means border is play an important role in the national security. Every country tries to isolate their borders. And they spend too much expense on it, which cause many economic problems for them. Despite of that there will be some loop remain in security.
For that purpose, we have built an efficient method by using the new concept of science and technology to perform border surveillance by making a UAV drone which works on WSN technology.IT gives much faster response than manual surveillance and minimize the energy consumption and cost.
In this era those nations nation which are using the new concept on technology and implementing them in their real world will become dominant. With the help wireless sensor node which is linked with thermal camera create a signal which helps as input to drone. Drone perform aerial mission to capture the location sent by thermal camera. With real time video signal, we can perform the imaging of the intrusion detection WSN Node. Monitor your work flow in real time from command and control room.
To provide an accurate detection and tracking of intruders on border by WSN, the method and techniques in deployment of nodes should achieve maximum coverage to entire supervised area, and allow sensors to generate signal on detection of any object.
Here we have two methods to implement this whole project .In first we have place thermal cameras on the border which is connected with a microcontroller and communication channel module .When it detects any suspect or object which creates heat then micro controller generates an signal towards the drone ,which contain its location and after receiving the signal the drone fly on autonomous flying concept which we also called auto-pilot technology and it will reach to that location and give the surveillance of that area via camera which is installed in the drone and it give the access to the control station to see the movement on their screens and monitor that area. Second method of implementation is that in which we replaced motion sensor instead of thermal camera because of the lack of the budget. Through which we have to face some technical challenges and then we have to overcome them as per the need. In future we can scale up this concept by arm the drones and create and ad-hoc network between all the nodes so that every node knows about the suspect movement through which we can predict the intruders activates and retaliate immediately.
For any country to maintain peaceful relations with its neighbors there is a need to establish a fire free zone on the borders, here the wireless sensor network system is at use. Soldier presence in the borders may lead to unexpected conflicts and ultimately result in a war. Wireless networking systems are required in less population dense areas where there is chance for illegal human operations, where as it is not necessary in places which have high density of population and security.
Soldiers are the most important assets for every country and we don't want to lose them .This project has the ability to cover those areas where surveillance is very dangerous. For example, in Pakistan we have very critical border like siachien and thar where majority of soldiers are fighting with their enemies and also with their weather and mountains. At that type of area ,if we implement our project we can safe many soldiers life.
Thermal camera is statically placed on the border which is connected with a sensor which work on WSN and linked with the drone with the WSN communication. After getting some movement in thermal camera, it generates some input and send it to drone. Drone get signal and point out the location and fly towards the given coordinates. After reaching to the desire location. It performs around 5 to 6 minutes surveillance on that location and provide the data to control station.
FYP is divided in two three parts which is A,B,C .A is the border where we have placed our nodes which contain thermal camera ,raspberry pi and communication sensor like telemetry,battery.B is the drone which is based on pixhawk micro controller in which we connect gps,telemetry,battery and the structure of quadcopter drone including propeller ,ESC,etc.C is the control station which is based on the laptop and the module through which you can get video transmission on it .
When A (Node) detects any objects then it generate a signal towards the drone then react on that signal and calculates their location by its gps and start flying autonomously towards the A(node).On that situation a person which is monitoring on C(control station)observing the whole situation via drone camera
