Traditional way of spraying chemical pesticides/herbicides is not only a waste of these products but also leads to food quality problems. Herbicides and pesticide’s applications are too costly. Our farmers cannot afford the expensive pesticides and herbicides. Also the systems that farmers are using do not provide accuracy. Most of these systems are heavy machinery like mechanized sprayers and are way too costly. To prevent all these problems from prevailing, the “WEED WRECK” is developed. It is a software-hardware based system, which provides solution to many of these problems. It is a system that is based on detection and image processing technology. It detects weed using a camera which is attached to the UAV. UAV also contains a card attached to it. All the images that UAV will capture, will be saved on this card. Images will be then processed on a system that generate results for the UAV. UAV will follow the instructions and spray on the area where weed is detected. Weed Wreck will provide accurate results as we are using AI to control the UAV. It is also used for detection and image processing so that the system detects accurately. This project will help farmers to save cost and time.
Project ObjectivesWreck will facilitate the farmer by reducing the cost of pesticide and enhancing the immunity of plant by showering quantified spray over the field. Use of UAV for capturing the images of the weed in the crop field will provide more accuracy for the image processing. This project will bring the change to keep an environment toxic free. This project have some limitations, it only process the image of the weed plant and shower the spray. It will not diagnose a disease or will not recommend a pesticide or herbicide to be used for spray. The system will provide uniform distribution of pesticides and herbicides at low possible cost.
Project Implementation MethodWeed Wreck is basically a software-hardware project. This project is to be used for detection of weed in the crop fields. To develop this project, we are using UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), lens and a computer system. The UAV will be used for capturing images of the weed in the crop filed by a lens attached to it. The lens will capture the image by setting frames in the field at a time. UAV is basically a device mainly used for capturing and spraying. We will use UAV in our project so that it captures the image to send it to the computer system for further processing using a card attached to it. After processing the images of the weed, UAV sprayer spray over the required coordinates in the field to remove the weed.

The proposed system will help farmers to keep their crop field weed free.
